My mother married my father. She was and still is religious, Christian. My father was raised in a Christian family, and did not want my sister and I to grow up being forced to believe anything. I grew up in a very Christian town in Ontario for the majority of my life, but moved around a lot. I met many people outside of that Christian community. I realized that something about the people from my home town were different from others . They were pushy, and they did not ever listen to what you had to say about anything. If you had a question that was not answerable, they were dismissive. When going to certain other cities, I found they were similar in attitude. They had christnity in common. Now. I recently moved back to take a break from school and re-connected with old friends. I only had a select few because I was not accepted because I didn't follow their beliefs. My friend had a new friend. Jacob grey. He is the son of a minister who owns his own church. This minister has three sons. All three sons claim to be Christians, however, they partly lie tO themselves and partly use Christianity as a cloak to hide from their terrible behavior. Jacob bragged to me about how he and his brothers compete for having the hottest girl friends, and compare nude photos of them. He also shot his dog after his father forced him to because it would get into the neighbors garbage every morning. ( ass hole could have tide the poor being to a roPe to solve that issue. ). He also bragged and laughed about how he and his brother took baby squirrels from their mother, paralyzed them by breaking their backs and then douced them with gasoline and set them on fire and waited as the public school girls from down the street walked to their bus stop to find the babies crawling and shreaking. This is terrifying. If I have met ONE person like this, it is too many. And to know that this guy is gonna reproduce and teach his " god " beliefs to his off spring.. Well that's nuts. He has already taught his 4 year old nephew to grab his penis infront of people and state " your momma wants this" . Ps, this guy actually believes in god and his father forgave him for his sins. Crazy. I am an athiest, and truely believe that our earth is what needs to be warshiped. We abuse it. I do not believe in god, but I do believe in being a good person. Signaling when I make lane changes, pickin up garbage that others toss aside, and helping out anyone who needs a hand, whether it be painting their house, or picking them up from a bar so they don't drive drunk. I have a husband that I am madly in Love with, but I dont believe I NEED to get married in order to know I will be with him for the rest of my life. I how ever still want to have a celebration of some sort for our love. Ps, did I mention that no god has blessed me with the gift of cooking so well and making it so delicious that your mom will be jealous? I worked hard at that, very hard, no god gave me it. Now, please, I'm a nice person, but if another Christian person offers me to borrow their wabbly ladder while they observe that I can't reach high enough to paint my house, and then delivers it along side a 4 hour DVD documentary labeled " rock-umen-tary" that is all abou how Marilyn Manson, micheal jackson, and mottly crew are the sources for the devil to seep into my brain, I am going to take that ladder, and beat you with it.( at least that is what I want to do.. However, I couldnt bring myself to actually do it) I will however drive you up the wall with blaringThe Doors outside so that you can hear all the sinful music from the comfort of your own home, and then knock on your door and try to save you from the life of torcher you are inflicting on others. Guilting people into thinking the devil is in rock music is rediculous. If you had not treated me with such disrespect, I would have nothing to back up my arguement. religion just causes wars. I don't push anything on anyone, and I'm happy. If everyone just let it all go, planted a couple native plant species in their back yard, composted and recycled, and reduced their reproduction of children and use of gas and electricity, we would all be happy and enjoy a breath of fresh air.
