Let’s start with the perpretrators of this goatfuckery. The Shiv Sena, or RSS. They’re a politically motivated, communalist, pseudo-religious organisation which is only interested in gaining a vote-bank and some sympathy for their political propaganda, and enlightened individuals of India are opposed to their views. Their authority over Hinduism is self-proclaimed. They represent neither the voice of Hinduism, nor of the nation, nor of the common man.

What they and also the rest of the world does not realise is that, there is a very thin line between Hindu philosophy and Indian society. Since both these developed simultaneously throughout history, and they have become almost synonymous to each other. Indeed these terms seem to be greatly intertwined. But one must always be careful enough to draw that fine line, and not to transverse it.

Anti-Valentine feelings are not due to Hindu teachings. They are due to the extreme conservativeness of INDIAN SOCITEY. Where women were opressed and obviously such exposure was not allowed.

The Hindu philosophy and it’s doctrines were not spread by one specific teacher at one specific time, they grew gradually as an Indian way of life and the code of conduct. The ancient Indian scriptures contain very little of these issues. Indeed the Kamasutra is a text classified under Secular category and has very little bearing on the religious aspect.

Hence, before bashing such acts and blaming the entire religion/nation, one must realise that these people are assholes. Hence, they make us look stupid to the world.

I can’t speak for other religions.. but christianity is fundamentally about love. Jesus died because of love.
Human relationships are beautiful gifts from God, an extension of his love for us.

If you mean religious love is ‘metaphysical’ because it doesn’t apply here and now to our lives I don’t think you understand the love of the God of christianity.

Love and sex act as a powerful “grounder” to the here-and-now, real life instead of the metaphysical crap offered by the religions’ snake oil salesmen. It reminds you (actually more like hits you over the head with the fact) that happiness is to be found with your honey, not with some inconsistent god through his exclusive representatives.

It’s no surprise that these same fraudsters attempt to fuck (pun intended) with it, it gets in their way.
