Prof. Hasan Bolkhari, a cultural advisor to the Iranian Education Ministry, claimed during a televised seminar that "Tom and Jerry" was created by the Jewish Walt Disney company to irradicate the association between mice and Jews created in the minds of Europeans by Hitler.
What I find amusing is how he calls it the Jewish Walt Disney Company. Firstly, Tom & Jerry was an MGM creation and secondly, Walt Disney was no Jewish sympathizer apparently and possibly quite the opposite. If this is how people are educated in Iran, I can see why they have so many problems.
I just hate it when people try to ruin my childhood memories especially cartoons like Tom & Jerry.

To ask the Muslims to reflect on why they are perceived as evil by humanity is an exercise in futility. Not since Hitler’s Germany has there been as great a threat to civilization. There is no silver lining here.

Believing muslims are a “threat to civilization” is just as ignorant as saying that Tom and Jerry is some sort of Zionist propaganda. Or that all Americans are ignorant warmongers. Its all in the extremes. Most Muslims are nice peace loving people.
Now I do believe the moderates need to slap these extremist around and get some order restored to this world(in many places, including the US, Europe and the Islamic world).

Dan, There were millions of “good Germans”, too. They said nothing. They did nothing. When Islamists terrorize the world “good Muslims”, out of fear, say nothing. The extreme is the rule in Islam.( http://www.prophetofdoom.net ) We, as a free society, must make the terrible decision to deal with the extreme using the most extreme measures. Our small war in Iraq is a diversion from the need to deal on a proper scale and in a proper manner with the source of the disorder. The time for any negotiated settlement has passed.

I’d just like to point out that MGM stands for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Two of its founders are Jewish. Just a minor point that while he got its originator wrong, he was right that their was Jewish backing to Tom and Jerry, conspiracy or otherwise.

I grew up in Iran and can tell you, conspiracy theories like this are rampant. A lot of crazy people rise through the ranks just because they’re religious. If you look at his audience, it’s a bunch of fully covered women and bearded dudes. There are lots of Iranians who think these people are nuts, so this dude is definitely not representative of all.
Full disclosure: The Islamic revolution basically turned me against Islam. After looking into other religions, I realized the all basically said the same stupid shit. The success of Christianity is that most people ignore most of it and focus on the feel-good crap. Islam is still focusing on the crazy shit (a la the Dark Ages for Christianity).
Having said all that, to get back to topic, I never thought Jerry was cute. He annoyed the crap out of me. Poor Tom was always being harassed simply for wanting to do what was natural to him: eat the stinky little rat.

The speaker is just making a point and the point is still valid. Yes, they mistakenly stated that “Tom & Jerry” was a creation of Disney. But, their points about the origins of resentment of the Jews and the Jewish trait of being “sneaky” and “crafty” are true.
Jews are an annoying people and sometimes they push it too far and cause problems for themselves.
Listen to the entire lecture! It has errors but it also has truths.
