Hi, some food for thought for those unsure of how Islam and Christianity sit with each other:
- While Christianity practised biblically is morally equivical (with a few differences) to Islam, most Christianity is (thankfully) unbiblical and semi-rational. Islam is a “fundamentalist” faith, meaning it’s followers ALL believe (except Sufis who are awesome) the Koran is the word of God, including all the “Kill the unbeliever!” stuff, which is NOT taken out of context or only in justifiable circumstances, etc).
- In Christianity, the perfect man is Jesus, who is basically a pacifist and a hippy, even if his faith is not 100% those things. In Islam, the perfect man is Mohammed, a warlord and child molester. “We shouldn’t hold him to today’s standards!” you say? Well, I like today’s standards. The perfect prophet of God is infallible, by the way, which makes it awfully hard for Muslims to condemn child abuse.
- Islam is the only faith where the followers are willed to commit genocide (or religicide, if you like) in order to fulfil prophecy – they must wipe the jews out, fight them so they hide behind stones and trees, and the stones and trees cry out “There is a jew behind me, cut off his head, kill him!”.
Some things to think about.
Christianity and Islam really shouldn’t sit with anyone who can think for themselves. Both are just collections of stories from bygone days when science was not so advanced and we understood the world less well. In present times, neither religion’s claims and stories really hold up under scrutiny. They are both pretty laughable.
Very interesting details you have remarked, thankyou for posting . “Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome.” by Arthur Ashe.
