As if there weren’t enough annoying special days to remember, like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Secretary’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Earth Day, Arbor Day, etc.. here’s yet another for you. Today marks the 11th annual Day Of Silence. It’s a project of GLSEN or the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network in collaboration with the United States Student Association (USSA), is a student-led day of action where those who support making anti-LGBT bullying and harassment unacceptable in schools participate in events to recognize and protest the discrimination and harassment—in effect, the silencing—experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students and their allies.
You’re probably wondering why I’m bothering with this by now. It seems harmless enough… right? Nobody should pay any attention to this unless you’re a LGBT… right? So what if 500,000 students lay silent for a day. What possible harm could this cause? Who would care?
Stay tuned for the main event on Thursday. I’m gonna need all the support of my readers and then some to make this one work. This is gonna be fun :)

I thought the mocking of the video was decent until the faux-female voices at the end and the obsession with the phrase “bearded clam”. One of those cases where you had a bit too much of a good thing, I guess.
