Thank goodness that we (well some of us) possess reason rather than ignorance. I would choose knowledge over stupidity any day..though the reverse would likely be easier.

Digital, I agree with you fully.

I kind of find it telling to the insanity of the argument that a post as off the wall as mine could be viewed as a realistic response.

You must be new here then. Some people would actuallly post things like that as a real argument. For laughs, looks at the Nanotech topic, look at Mohameds post and you'll see what I mean.

For the rest of your post, It's like hearing myself talk.

Thanks Soliloqui, I kind of find it telling to the insanity of the argument that a post as off the wall as mine could be viewed as a realistic response.

If faith makes you happy, go with it. It only becomes an issue if it is pushed on others. Trying to pass off the bible as a historicly accurate peice of the past, rather then the recommended way to live your life 2000 years ago, makes no sense.

If beliving in a higher being or force is for you, then do so, but do nothing to impede humanitys progression. Don't attack the very people who have helped to build a world where you have the free time to bitch and moan all day.

We live in a world where scientists are breaching the very edges of everything... the Hadron Collider will soon show us a glimse of things which were nothing but theory and math before, we're working on getting a man on Mars, and farming the moon! We're designing viruses that can target specific cell types that may be able to cure cancer or even aids.

Science! This is what humanity is capable of!

And not just theory and 'things to come'. Since 10,000 BC, smallpox was a deadly disease... countless millions of people. Over 80% of children exposed would die, simple as that. Survivors may be blind.

You know what science did to this bitch?

Eradication of smallpox was in 1979. And that's just a simple and obvious example. Imagine for me if the people who created air-conditoners had only used 'the law of thermodynamics' to be a douche on the forums... rather then understanding heat transfer and it's applications. Hows the temperature in your home today?

Now if the men and women involved had grown refusing to belive anything but what that book taught them... if the religious leaders were given back the control they so desperatly crave... again... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_ages

Faith is your right, and so long as it is not a burdon to humanity, and rather the light it claims to be, I respect that. However I'll defend the progress of humanity for more venemously then you will your faith... and I'll be right.

The thing about religion, from a scientific perspective is that it's not falsifiable.. It's a circular argument based entirely on "faith" and assumption.

I am neither a supporter of religion, nor do I bash it, but Ricky is really not trying to duel with the religious folk..he's just laying out his bit.

And I think it's "absolutely brilliant"!

And, I think you can't prove God's existence because that would take away His power. He exists for faith to exist, and thrives because of it.

The bible is all you need. Read it. It is a moral book that allows you to guide your life in the way of the LORD!

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. The south shall rise again!

2. Remember always that women are simply tools for our use, and as per Exodus 21:7, your daughter is your property to sell as you see fit.

3. Our LORD enjoys the smell of a burning a bull, as it creates a pleasing odor - Lev.1:9.

4. Every sunday you are to kill those who work. Any job at all, right down to picking up sticks - Exodus 35:2.

5. Eating shellfish is a horrible abomination - Lev. 11:10

6. Lev.21:20 Dwarfs, people with back problems, or even sight problems are less then us, and may not aproach the alter.

7. Don't cut your hair or beard: Lev. 19:27

8. Football is an abomination as well, as handling the skin of a pig is unclean! Lev. 11:6-8

9. Lev.19:19 states clearly that you shall not plant two types of crops in the same land, yet the devils have convinced farmers that they will retate their crops! Not only that but I have to hand make my clothing to prevent wearing anything with two types of cloth.

"What’s really hilarious is an atheist trying to prove there is no God."

I like Dawkins take on all of this, essentially when there is no proof of somethings existence, the onus should be on the believers to prove it exists, not the other way around.

And for the record, Dawkins description of himself within the believer:atheist sliding scale doesnt put him as KNOWING there is no god (because how can you?) but being pretty bloody damn sure of it given the balance of evidence. Same way that no 'believer' can truly say that they KNOW there IS a god, ie otherwise the word 'faith' wouldnt be so necessary in religious discussion...

"Read the Bible, the only book worth reading!"

I'm gonna guess you haven't bothered to read any other books then...

"And who could write better about life that it`s Creator?"

But who created the creator? Maybe theres an even bigger god over your god, holy crap, you better start worshiping that one fast.
