I'd just like to note that if you look closely at the photo, the pegs are still in place. He is not lifting anything.

that was 1000lbs, NOT 2000lbs. Watch the video. Plus he only bent his legs just a little and he uses his arms to help push his legs. However I will still say I am impressed that his joints can handle that much compression at his age. I can do 1000lbs for 5 solid reps going deep and without using my arms to help. I can tell you that this puts your body under enormous stress even if all you are doing is sitting there with your legs locked.

It looks like the angle of the machine is at about 30 degrees from verticle. This would effectively cut the weight he lifts in half (sin(30)=0.5 for the mathematically inclined). This means that if the machine actually has 2000 lbs on it, he would only be lifing 1000 lbs of it. Furthermore, the difficulty of a leg press depends on how extended your legs are to begin with. If he were to start the lift at the optimal extension, the feat would be very possible. I used to leg presses of 500 lbs as a 16 year-old thanks to an inclined plane and the right starting extension and I was no where near in shape.
