You know you’ve gone too far when the Republican party shuns you for being "too" Christian. This is exactly what has happened to U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris of Florida.
Harris is a flaming Christian that believes separation of church and state is a fallacy and it is God who ultimately chooses our rulers. In an interview with the Florida Baptist Witness she states…
And if we are the ones not actively involved in electing those godly men and women and if people aren’t involved in helping godly men in getting elected than we’re going to have a nation of secular laws. That’s not what our founding fathers intended and that’s certainly isn’t what God intended.
I’m sure Sidfaiwu would agree with Harris wholeheartedly on that issue ;) But wait there’s more. Harris also stated in the same interview that a vote for a non-Christian is a vote for sin. Or in her words…
If you are not electing Christians, tried and true, under public scrutiny and pressure, if you’re not electing Christians then in essence you are going to legislate sin.
What kind of message does that send to the Atheist, Muslim, Jewish, and other non-Christian members of our society? Someone might as well just say that a vote for a black or a homosexual is a vote for sin. There’s plenty of people to discriminate against. At one point in time, voting for a woman might be considered a vote for sin. This just makes no sense.
On the other hand though, Harris who is pushing 50, could have a future as a MILF pornstar. I’m sure an older, good looking, white Christian could do just fine on the porn circuit, but that’s a topic for an entirely different site ;)
Let’s just hope Harris is gone come November and voters show some shred of common sense. Till then keep your fingers crossed!
Thanks go out to Brian "Humanistic" Jones for the tip on this one!

at first I thought the pornstar thing was sort of a low (though arguably deserved) blow, but have you seen the google images?

Okay, this makes no sense. If God is chosing our leaders, then who we vote is irrelevant, and as such, we cannot be accused of legislating “sin” when non-Christian political candidates win, because, according to Harris, God chose them. Seriously, does anyone ever listen to themselves talk anymore?
As for the MILF thing, I doubt that would fly given the whole missionary position only.

Oh geeze, it’s scary to think she’s in a position of power… replace in her words “God” with any other deity, especially one of Hindu faith for spice, and she would be locked up for being a raving lunatic.
Not that she doesn’t come across one to me ;)

Wonkette has provided plenty of photos of Harris, her pneumatic breasts straining against thin fabric, sitting stride horses.
So she may well be up for making kinky porn.

“Good looking”? Do you think Richard Nixon is a sexy MILF too?

Her message is dead on! How’d you know I’d agree?
*shudder*
Has Florida sunk into the ocean yet? How could anyone who claims to love freedom vote her into office? I’ll be holding my breath until Nov 11th.
I could write extensively about why she is wrong, but I’ve been saving that stuff for an upcoming editorial.

“If you are not electing Christians, tried and true, under public scrutiny and pressure, if you’re not electing Christians then in essence you are going to legislate sin.”
If voting for someone who is accepting of all religions and peoples regardless of belief is a vote for sin, I’ll take sin, thank you very much.

Please keep 1 thing in mind, she’s in POLITICS. Politicians tailor their words based on the audience at hand. In this case it’s the “Florida Baptist Witness”.
However, I think actions speak louder than words. You have to love YouTube!

I had the sound muted, so all I saw were heaving pneumatic breasts.
They’re might fine pneumatic breasts, but is she attractive from the neck up? Neigh!

Heh. At first I thought the whole “MILF” thing was uncalled for and immature, but after watching that YouTube video (also without the sound) I can only wonder if she is consciously trying to be seductive. She must be. I mean, come on. It wasn’t just the “pneumatic breasts.” It was all the “come hither” looks and the batting of the eyelashes like she was on a photoshoot.
I’d like to see/hear her debate another female politician like Hillary Clinton. I bet Hillary would come off sounding so much more professional and intelligent.

Here’s my favorite picture of Harris, and her pneumatic breasts, astride a horse:

not a MILF, more of a GMILF ;-) the video is great, that 45-degree pose is beyond shameless. there must be something in the bible about fake boobs. i have met quite a few born again xtian girls that insisted they didn’t get their fake boobs to attract men (that’s adultery afterall).

Sometimes I wonder if most girls are really aware of why they wear/do what they do and what effect it has. Sometimes I think “Oh, they know EXACTLY what they are doing. They must.” but they usually insist that they wore such and such skimpy outfit because it is “cute” or “fashionable.” Sorry, but you don’t wear Daisy Dukes and a bikini top over fake breasts to go grocery shopping because it is “cute.” You do it to get attention. Now, I’m not saying girls should change the way they dress because of the effect it has. I just think they should be honest about it. Honest with themselves, and with everyone else.

So it is a Right-Wingers fantasy to have a 3-some with her and Ann Coulter? :)
