Camp Out–Where It’s Ok To Drop The Soap

Camp OutHats off to The Right Reverend Rabbi Judah [1] for dropping this one on my lap. Check out his site if you haven’t already! Now back to business…

Grab your ankles folks because we have another Bible camp documentary coming your way. Move over Jesus Camp, here comes Camp Out, the world’s first and only documentary on a gay Christian overnight camp for kids.

Follow four girls and six boys aged 14-18 as they take a strange journey down an awfully lonely road. They deal with their sexuality, rejection from the church, and each other. The tone is set early on when one of the kids asks…

what if we’re all wrong… what if we are going to hell?

That’s pretty heavy duty considering I was just popping zits and scratching my @ss at that age. Nonetheless, it appears to be quite intriguing. But watch the trailer [2] and then the Jesus Camp [3] one. The first thing I noticed immediately is that these supposedly socially defunct kids that have a one-way ticket to hell come across a helluva lot more normal than the Jesus freaks do. Take a look and decide for yourself.
