Nobody is saying that it is still based on Christianity. The fact of the matter is that the DOI and Consititution were written from Christians with a Christian perpective that it is line with Christianity. The Laws are in line with the Bible as well, which is a main source of the founders.

Why does it matter how the state was founded - it happened hundreds of years ago. Society has changed and evolved since then, we are more advanced, wiser and many of the interactions that we have with each other have changed the point of being unrecognisable. Asking if a state was "founded" on certain principles is ridiculous - people change, and the only right/wrong at a given time is the right/wrong that is defined by that society at that time (and which is contantly evolving). Otherwise, we might as well just btake a bunch of 2000 year old books literally.

Let's not get stuck in the past like most religions.

Although they did not state Christian beliefs or anything, you will find that they based the nation on principles that are in line with Christianity and The Bible. Their goal was not for it to be a "Christian nation" per se. They wanted to stress religious tolerance and did not want to restrict people's beliefs. But they did found it on principles that line up with Christianity.

No, it was not. While many of the founders were Christians or at least mouthed it, they did nothing to enpower Chrisitanity in the US. They didnt mention Jesus or Christianity in the Constitution or DOI, nor does it appear that any of them abjected to article XI of the 1798 Treaty of Tripoli.
