David Kuo, the number two guy at the Office of Faith Based initiatives in the White House writes a scathing account of how the Bush administration used Christians to grab and maintain power. The book is entitled Tempting Faith: An Inside Story of Political Seduction, and it appears to be devistating.
This story also validates Tucker Carlson’s admission that: "The deep truth is that the elites in the Republican Party have pure contempt for the evangelicals who put their party in power." That video is here.
If all this is true, then my level of respect for the President has shot up… well a little at least.
Keith Olbermann obtained a copy of the soon-to-be released book and gives his opinion and analysis. It’s good stuff to say the least. Check out the video here.

Wow, who ever would have thought that a party that’s built its current administration on the politicization of everything for the purposes of snatch and grab power gains would decieve and use the Christians. I’d like to say something about the Christians in all of this, but I think this is going to make them look just as bad. I’m almost sorry for them, but they really asked for this one by jumping up everytime Bush and is controllers said “Crusade” or “War agains Chrisitans”.

Religion is a tool for controlling the masses, and a politicians primary goal in a democracy is to control the masses to vote for him/her. Is this really that much of a surprise?

so democracy= tyranical state?
makes sense to me
our government is almost a Empiric state anyway
we can go to war anywhere we want for any reason we want and the 3/4s of the population who are retarted or in alabama as we call them *simple folk* will just believe and shit pile thrown infront of them as the truth, my biggest example of this is Bush a couple weeks back on CNN said Iraq afganistan(sorry if misspelled) had nothing to do with 9/11… then wtf were we doing there mr.pyscho puppet?

Again it’s not the religion, it’s the people fault, that they can’t question the truth, some times people thinks that Priest or Sheikh has the ultimate knowledge, so they fall for them, which the Priest ans Sheikhs easily using it.
The funny thing, I don’t why people falls for Bush B.S, he doesn’t know to say two words, I feel like I have better English than him, seriously I can’t stop laughing every time I see him speaking, in contrary when I see Clinton speaking(i’m not liberlal nor consrevitive, both of them are joke) he is really smart guy, he knows how to deliver the message and convince you that he listening and he is working hard.
I really feel sad for what’s going on in USA, they really destroy this country, I left Egypt for a stupid Gov, and I came here to find the same, may be even worse, at least Egyptian Presdent don’t declare wars.
It’s all about education and the paraents teachings, which now in USA are almost don’e exist, education is a joke and paranets working for 16 hours to live.
I know that extrimst Muslims kidnapped my reilgion, and I know the this Gov kidnapped the American people values.
Is there any thing we could do to make it better? I don’t what the answer for this question, I really worry to much, I hate wars and it really stress me out just thinking about it.

This just points out what most people could probably figure out on their own, but never really wanted to believe: the government is nothing more than people who, just like us, want what’s best for them and, just like many of us, don’t really care about the rest. When I look at the Republican and Democratic parties now, I don’t even really see any difference between them. Either way, our country seems to be moving in the same direction, which is greater government control. Democrats claim it in the name of equality and fairness, Republicans in the name of peace and security. The only way they differ are issues like gay marrige and prayer in schools, issues that haven’t actually changed much in policy recently, despite all the arguing. They do, however, get our attention, and that’s what is important. Politicians just want votes. In this case I see it as a good thing that the evangelicals aren’t really getting their policies supported, but then again, what about the policies I want?

For staplesmcjesus:
A quick workaround to get to blocked sites is to go to Alta Vista’s Babelfish translation service and have it translate the page you need from Chinese into English. It’ll pass the English right on through while looking in vain for the Chinese.

Republicans pretty much admit that they’ll do anything to keep themselves in power. So why is it that we tolerate them?
October 13th, 2006 at 1:54 am
because “we” as in about half of us americans, are strategically placed (thx electoral college) ignorant rednecks.

Mina? What makes you think we have any choice in the matter? That is an illusion they have cultivated for a looong time. Really, for president you get to choose between two people that THEY put before you. When voting matters is when WE get to choose who gets nominated, not THEM. If I hold up before you on the one hand cyanide tabs and the other arsenic and tell you to choose, is that really choice? Both of them will kill you, so it hardly matters which you choose. This is our dilemma today. THIS is why I dont vote. You give me a choice I can live with and I will for sure.

Staples1,2,3 or whoever you are, I fully support your abiity WHEN YOU ARE AN ADULT, to kill as many brain cells, or yourself, in any way you choose. This is why I dispise the seatbelt law as it pertains to adults. It should not be.
As far as drugs there is a catch-22. I feel pot and others like it (unlike crack for instance) should be as legal as booze. They are the same to me. Stupidity in tangible form, but if people want to use them so be it. I also think employers should be able to give their employees spot drug checks if it is legalized. They have a right to clean employees if they want it. ESPECIALLY in jobs where a junkie can kill other people (heavy equipment, etc).
The problem with legalizing drugs is it becomes a slippery slope. If we legalize pot, do we also legalize cocaine? If not, why not, where is that line drawn? Harder drugs do not JUST affect the idiots that use them, they affect other people too. IF they were legal they would be cheaper and more people would use them, guaranteed. There are just that many stupid people out there. Due to the highly addictive nature of them, they would end up cooked and unable to hold down a job, or would spend all their bill money on the drugs and then where do they turn? I guarantee you most junkies would turn to robbery, etc to scratch the itch. Now it isnt just some idiotic junkies problem, now it is MINE.
You should think a little harder before you call for the legalization of drugs, maybe in 15 or so more years you will understand that. Its a damn shame 18 year olds can vote. Fortunately it doesn’t matter.

Niiice. Cynics (spelled Realists) of the world unite. My feelings exactly, except I vote every chance I get. I do think it’s a waste of time though.

Why should you be an adult to decide on this? I come across this conservative blather all the time. You can’t drink, smoke, or otherwise intoxicate yourself, or have sex or die unless you’re an adult. Why?
Because children can’t make decisions for themselves? Are adults better at it? Do adults take the children’s own situations and wishes into account, or is it something along the lines of “we don’t want you to die, so this is what you may and may not do”. I find it an insult.
And of course, someone who is 20 years and 360 days old is not an adult and someone of age 21 suddenly is. Or whatever totally arbitrary line you wish to draw. Age elitists.
“They have a right to clean employees if they want it. ESPECIALLY in jobs where a junkie can kill other people (heavy equipment, etc).”
Isn’t working while drugged(/drunk) grounds for immediate dismissal? Ergo, this is already taken care of.
“The problem with legalizing drugs is it becomes a slippery slope. If we legalize pot, do we also legalize cocaine? If not, why not, where is that line drawn? While I doubt addiction alone makes someone “end up cooked and unable to hold down a job”, there are already such people. I’m pretty certain the major reason these people “spend all their bill money on the drugs” is because they are currently highly expensive.
“I guarantee you most junkies would turn to robbery, etc to scratch the itch. Now it isnt just some idiotic junkies problem, now it is MINE.”
Isn’t there something illegal about robbery? There you have it, problem solved.
“You should think a little harder before you call for the legalization of drugs, maybe in 15 or so more years you will understand that. Its a damn shame 18 year olds can vote. Fortunately it doesn’t matter.”
Maybe you, too, will someday break out of your rusty cage. I find your wording, age elitism and consistent idiot-calling of drug users insulting. And to think the only drug I use is the socially accepted alcohol.
