Ferin brings us this gem of a video. Take 1 part Drowning Pool and add a healthy scoop of Benny Hinn. The result is a beautiful religious freaks extravaganza. Let the bodies hit the floor indeed.
On a serious note though… how on earth could you play along with this scam if you’re in the audience? I think I’d wake the next day feeling shameful like after a one-nighter with a chick sporting a unibrow. Yikes :(

So… never really been a fan of that song. But I can honestly say that after seeing it put to such good use I have a newfound respect for it. :)

I have always loved that song, and that was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. It amazes me to this day that anyone that can feed themselves and tie their own shoes believes that crap but they DO!

“I think I’d wake the next day feeling shameful like after a one-nighter with a chick sporting a unibrow. Yikes :(”
:-D
this is amazing stuff… but we’ve had people here post about miracles and such… if you can convince yourself that a “miracle” happened, then this is just the next step…

I always knew god was great, but he gives you the power to knock people down? Sign me up.
Reminds me of a show on the national geographic channel or some such about people with ’superhuman’ powers, including a martial arts master who could knock people out without touching them. Of course, when he tried it on a scientist it didn’t work, but there could be several reasons for that, like apparently it doesn’t work if your tongue is in the wrong spot or your toes or pointed or something. Obviously.

I felt sorry for that poor grandma and the guy doing the “worm” on stage. But there was that one person whose pelvis should have been blurred out as it was doing its rhythmic thrusting.
December 11th, 2006 at 8:00 pm
Today I was fantasizing about carrying around a five pound sledge just to bash in peoples knees, possibly while riding on a tiger. It would almost be as good to be this guy.

You’ve just been pimp-slapped by the power of Jesus!
There’s some guy who went around exposing this kind of fraud back in the 90’s. I can’t remember his name, but he documented it all with video footage, and eventually he was not allowed to participate in these kinds of events because word got around and the scammers who do this sort of thing started recognizing him.
I’ll see if I can dig it up.

I need to quote you on that one!

These people know what’s expected of them, and feel that if it doesn’t happen to them, they’re simply unworthy… so they fact it to not appear unworthy. Either conciously or subconciously, that’s what’s going on.
I really do feel sorry for them.
December 12th, 2006 at 12:07 am
Damnit, that’s supposed to be fake, not fact.
I hate typos.
December 12th, 2006 at 12:58 am
Just imagine the water cooler conversations with the guy who didn’t understand you were supposed to fall down:
Guy 1: “Dude, did you feel the hand of God?”
Guy 2: “Yeah, he sent me reeling! How about you?”
Guy 3: “Uh, I didn’t feel anything. The preacher just waved his arms and nothing happened.”
Guy 1: …
Guy 2: …
Guys 1 & 2: “SINNER!!!!”

Wow, Benny’s hair isn’t nearly as tall as it used to be.
Back in college we’d get really high and watch Benny & his Giant Hair on late-night TV. We laughed until it hurt!
Nice editing work on this hilarious A/V mashup.
December 12th, 2006 at 1:55 am
Wow, it’s really an amazing thing, how can people think this is real? It’s about as genuine as Wrestling.
December 12th, 2006 at 3:00 am
I don’t believe they necessary need to “play along with this scamâ€, and neither do I believe they are “feeling shameful like after a one-nighter with a chick sporting a unibrow†afterwards.
The power of mass suggestion and humans need to conform will force any “non-resisting†mind into submission; hence they really do believe what is going on. A good example of such behaviour is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derren_Brown (the part about “the Séanceâ€)
Cut from TFA: Brown’s next project was shown on Channel 4 on 31 May 2004. In Derren Brown: Séance he brought students from Roehampton University together to re-create a live séance. He invited students to come along to the event at Eltham Hall, claiming that the location had a history of paranormal activity after 12 people killed themselves in a suicide pact in 1974, Brown demonstrated the methods used by spiritualists.
This show was great, even though some of the methods he used were a bit cheap; he really got what he expected. In this show he demonstrated how one can trick another person’s brain all the way to the level where the body responds physically. The show ends with most of the ppl in a panic mode and more or less convinced they had undisputable evidence of ppl in the group being possessed, and that they had been talking with the dead.

Now Alcari, you may not appreciate wrestling, but it is sort of a ballet, only with 300 lbs man who jump, fall and doing acrobatic tricks. As one commentator said, “There is nothing fake, having 300 pound man falling on you from 6 feel height.”
December 12th, 2006 at 2:28 pm
hey, I never said it wasn’t hard work. Just that it’s all fake, one big show.
December 12th, 2006 at 4:11 pm
I love the part near the beginning where he waves at the group of people in white with black ties standing behind him facing the audience. The second row and all the rows after it fall down on command, but the first row stands oblivious. They didn’t get the suggestion by seeing a row in front of them fall.
December 13th, 2006 at 2:05 pm
Judo chop for Jesus!
In all seriousness, any slick talking con artist can fill a room full of people who already want to believe something and make them believe that shoving a railroad spike into their forehead will bring them closer to God. Never underestimate the gullibility of people in large numbers. Especially when they have a few planted people in the crowd claiming it works.
December 14th, 2006 at 4:14 am
lol… indeed. even in the video, it’s painfully obvious that a few people are “playing for the other team”, and i don’t mean that they prefer shlong… but you never know ;-)
December 14th, 2006 at 5:53 pm
“The second row and all the rows after it fall down on command, but the first row stands oblivious. They didn’t get the suggestion by seeing a row in front of them fall.”
I understand the point you’re trying to make about the power of suggestion, but the particular example you offer doesn’t actually work — if the first row didn’t fall because they didn’t see a row in front of them fall, then the second row, even more so, shouldn’t have fallen because they actually saw a row in front of them remain standing.
December 15th, 2006 at 10:34 am
The shills were in the second row.

I have never been at a Benny Hinn meeting personally so I can not really say too much about him. But I have experienced what happened to the people in the audience in this clip. When the power of God comes upon you it can be hard to remain standing. This happened to me in a otherwise very quiet and “normal” church meeting. After his sermon the pastor asked if he could pray for me. He did not even lay his hands upon me, just prayed for me while I was standing. Suddenly I felt something like a warm flow go through me and I fell to the ground. Afterwards I was full of joy and inner peace!!
I know from my personal experience that God is real!!
March 8th, 2007 at 4:48 pm
Great, Pekka!
Now is God correctly described in the Bible, Qur’an, or neither? Can you compare and contrast your experience with God to that of a Buddhist’s experience of enlightenment, or any other religious experience?
By they way, I’ve had similar experiences when thinking deeply about mathematics, physics, and philosophy. Math is real! Praise the equations!
My point is that your personal experience cannot be used as a reason for anyone else to believe. While we have no reason to doubt that you experienced something, we are just skeptical that its cause was supernatural in nature.
March 10th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
I love how people fall for this bullshit, it just proves how stupid religion is.
:)
March 19th, 2007 at 10:58 pm
Hi again guys,
Here is a comment to your comment sidfaiwu:
Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father exept through me.”
So as a follower of Jesus I believe that Jesus is the ONLY way to God. If someone claims to be a Christian, they should believe the same, since being a Christian means to be a follower of Christ Jesus.
I have also had great times with math and even greater times playing sports. All of that is real! And God is just as real. But math nore sports are worthy of my praise.
And a comment to TheAntiMan:
There are people who fall for all sort of bullshit. Alcohol abuse, snorting cocaine, using LSD etc. If what happens on the video above is considered as bullshit, I would rather have that bullshit than any of what I just mentioned.
Peace out.
March 20th, 2007 at 8:22 am
Hey Pekka,
I was trying to raise a question in your mind with my last post. If the feelings that you described can be caused by natural things, such as mathematics, sports, music, etc., then why did you assume a supernatural cause of your experience in general and the Christian God in particular? Could it not have been the emotional reaction of the minister paying you heart-felt attention? Even if the cause was supernatural, it might have been caused by the spirit of a deceased love one, or Allah, or Krishna, or an unknown version of God.
To jump straight to ‘God did it’ and even further to ‘God did it and he’s described in this particular book’ seems premature at best and probably reckless.
October 20th, 2007 at 9:47 am
Heyy
Pekka, I have had the same experience. No one pushes you, doesn’t even lay hands on you, but you fall over. I am 14 and a commited Christian. When Jesus comes back, to earth I will laugh because then all of you will know that JESUS IS LORD! GOD IS AWESOME! POWERFUL and MIGHTY!
No matter what God does for people, they don’t realise that its him! I have seen 4 people healed from cancer as a result of praying for them. Now you can’t say thats just a coinsidence. OUR GOD REIGNS!

December 29th, 2007 at 10:05 pm
Just think of it… If you’re as good at scamming people as he is, you could get paid billions a year to beat people up in the name of faith. I WANT THAT JOB!!
December 31st, 2007 at 9:48 am
Yeah, nothing wrong with scamming dumb people out of their money. I think stupidity should be punished any way we can.
December 31st, 2007 at 5:56 pm
Don’t the people in the audience ever wonder why the
people in back catching the bodys don’t feel the spirit enough to knock them over them over? Or are the ody catchers Hell’s angels? :-)
February 7th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Funny stuff. xD I love that song. Even though I’m a Christian, I don’t feel guilty about laughing at this. I’ve been in churches where this stuff happened, and I’ve never quite felt the urge to go down and start flailing. 0_o Weird stuff right there. I personally believe it’s all for attention. Anyways, great video. At the beginning, where it’s like, “Let the bodies hit the… FLOOR!” and Hinn yells? Yeah. I rolled. :]

March 8th, 2008 at 9:39 am
In the the last days there will be spirits of devils working miracles.
My God is a God of order and peace not a god of confusion and disorder.
My Jesus cast out demons (Bible speaks of demon possessed convulsing) Didn’t find anywhere where Christ caused convulsions and disorder.
On judgement the Bible says (paraphrase) Many will say unto me on that day (judgement day) Have we not preached in Thy name cast out demons…And He will say get out of my sight you that work iniquity I NEVER KNEW YOU!! Talking of those who Live for the earthly honor and glory YOU HAVE YOUR REWARD NOW
March 8th, 2008 at 10:30 am
pat Wisconsin, you said
so I have to ask some obvious questions:
1. Is your god not powerful enough to quell these devils itself in the present? If that is your case, then your god is not omnipotent (as commonly advertised). Therefore, it is hardly a god worth worshipping.
2. If your god is not one of disorder, why then is there so much obvious confusion and disorder at present around us? Is your god incapable of quelling the disorder, or just mentally incapable of handling it? Or are many things just out of the control of your particular god? Your god then would not stand up well against competitors such as the Flying Spaghetti Monster, who, as his loyal subjects well know, revels in disorder and entanglement.
All in all, seems like a pretty weak “deity” that you are worshipping.
March 8th, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Besides, we’ve had what could be called “Spirits of the devil working miracles” sinse somewhere around… oh… before the bible was even written.
Still, if you believe these are the final days, feel free to send my your life savings and retirement fund. I’ve yet to find a single Christian who “Certain the rapture will come within 20 years” willing to do this.
March 9th, 2008 at 12:59 am
Alcari — mostly true, your point about those who believing in the rapture not putting their money where their mouth is. However, I did overhear the end of a conversation in a video store, circa 1994, wherein I heard a couple who were apparently convinced of the rapture so much that they gleefully informed the video store worker that “yes, we’re spending so much that we’ll have to declare bankruptcy by the year 2000, but Jesus will have come back by then.” The worker’s jaw dropped, I just shook my head. I know that doesn’t count as “giving money away,” but it sure is telling . . .

It’s gasmonso a.k.a. the one who puts all these articles up.
March 9th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
While flattered, it is indeed Gasmonso, who wisely tends to avoid the discussion.
You can e-mail him though the Contact link at the top of the page.
And thanks to the power of EDIT, I no longer have to look like an idiot reposting after someone ninjad my post. ;)
March 9th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
It is indeed I, the Great Gasmonso, who is the curator of this fine establishment:)
What can I do for you Muslim Boy?
@alcari, I wish I could mingle more in the comments area, but I often lack the time :( Hopefully this will change over the coming weeks as I find others to contribute articles :)
March 9th, 2008 at 5:07 pm
Me? A moderator? Naw, I’m too much the Libertarian radical to be moderate . . . and on the serious side, I think Gasmonso does a very fine job Moderating this site, and allowing folks their “space” so that it is more than just the Gasmonso the Great Show (which, to tell the truth, might get confused too much with the Gonzo the Great show, especially if Gasmonso starts using chickens . . . )

I would just like to say that we are not to judge. God will do that when He comes. :)
To all those that deny Jesus Christ as the ONLY way to salvation and life everlasting:
May God reveal Himself to you in such a way that you will have no room for doubt at all. May His Mercy be available to you when you need it most, in Jesus Name. Amen.
To all the bold and GENUINE Christians here:
May God bless you and care for you, in Jesus Name. He said in His Word: The Holy Spirit will come apon you so you may be powerful witnesses to those who do not believe.
July 23rd, 2008 at 11:12 am
Willie Le Misguided, re your post 47:
Thanks for your sentiments, which we see repeated here tediously and often. However, your bible through its self-contradictions and blatant errors readily reveals your beliefs to be fictional in the face of a more modern understanding of the world than was admitted during the long seedy history of bible revisions.
Religion is a disease of the mind. Inoculate against it with reason.

Yah for mass hypnosis!
August 30th, 2008 at 5:04 am
I accepted Christ as my savior when I was a young man in my early 20’s in 1973. I got saved in a church where this kind of stuff was going on constantly…I thought it was real then, but I realise now, that, that emotionalism going on was like a circus…..I have since then grown up in Christ and matured, and left that foolishness 30 years ago…Almost all of these people that come to this kind of service are people with serious emotional issues, that are looking for the sensation, and the high they get in those services….This is not God,but ignorance on a mass scale! These are people that want to be scammed….These people don’t realise that this man is making fools of every one of them……Then taking their money and living like royalty……
August 30th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
jgarman49, re your post 50:
Hopefully your next maturation phase will include the realization that Christianity itself is nonsense created by man. Even the concept of an omnipotent being needing to sacrifice anything, and furthermore needing a book to get its message across, is absurd, as is the nonsense of a young flat earth such as is presented within Christian literature.
Religion is ridiculous.
September 8th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
Jesus is awesome the power of the holy spirit in the world today is growing at a rapid rate into every believer. Many say stuff like this is not real. Gods word says differnt. If one would study scripture instead of jumping to conclusion they would see the power of God working in their lives.
Mark 16:16-18 16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Amen Glory be to God Almighty
September 8th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
You Bible also says that you God knows the end from the beginning, and still was all taken back by the original sin. Guess he must have missed that one. Oh, wait, there was the betrayal of Lucifer and 1/3 of his angels too…yah…wasn’t a big deal anyway so we can let that one slide too.
