It's stories like this one that put a smile on my face. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. As a matter of fact, this is something right out of a National Lampoons movie. Either way this is a good sign for the New Year!
Sunday marked the first day of Eid al-Adha, a feast of sorts following the Hajj. Traditionally, Muslims will mercilessly sacrifice livestock to satisfy their insatiable appetite. In years previous, thousands of innocent cows, sheep, goats, and other assorted animals have met their doom. But this time was different. This time, the animals wouldn't go down so easy. They would make a stand.
It all started when the frightened animals, at the business edge of the knife, began to fight back. They squirmed and moved around, confusing the Islamic butchers and causing many to sacrifice their own fingers, hands, and arms. A large animal, probably a cow or bull, had a better idea. When four clueless Muslims went in for the attack, the rather large animal fell on top of them sending all four to the hospital with severe injuries. At the end of the day, the animals had wounded over 1,400 and killed 3 with heart attacks.
While I find this story to be absolutely hilarious, I can't help but imagine Turkey in the European Union. I know many Europeans are against it, but just think how much Turkey could liven things up. It's just a thought ;)

cow jihad!! Moooo!!!
what? animals can’t be religious?
Looks like somebody’s not so excited to be meeting all those bovine virgins in paradise.
Cows with Guns?
Watch it here:

(Yeah, it’s worth the short wait to see/hear it.)
But really, it’s hard to believe that people would actually kill innocent animals and then eat their flesh. That’s disgusting!
I’m sure that atheists would never do such a thing, right?
what does the koran say about getting killed by a cow?
@gabrielAmerican,
Unless that cow was threatening your religion i guess it can’t be called jiad, so the dead guys aren’t martyrs. But hey, i’m sure god will go easy on them since they died while doing what the Quran/Mohammed told them to.

I can. Meat is awesome.
Hell I wished we tortured animals that way they would taste consistently awesome.
Such a monumental waste of life.
“At the end of the day, the animals had wounded over 1,400 and killed 3 with heart attacks.”
1,400?! No… wow. I always knew the revolution would come in my lifetime, but I never thought it would be started by the cows.
Maybe those Hindu’s are right…
:D
Why would you rejoice because people got hurt? That’s quite callous. There’s a difference between not believing in any religion and hating religious people. I sounds like you’ve crossed that line.
I => It
Who’s rejoicing? Show of hands.
There’s a difference between hating religious people and criticizing the stupid stuff their religion is directly responsible for them doing. And if their religion is hurting them instead of innocent people, why not laugh?
I have to admit I am somewhat confused by this whole post. It almost sounds like Gas is saying that eating meat is wrong? If so I couldn’t disagree more, I love a steak or a burger like nothing else! Maybe it was in jest? Dunno, hard to get a sense on this one.
Anyway, my take: Love me some meat, saddened by this on the whole, and confused that this is big news.
just poking fun that their teachings bit them on the ass again
see, that’s why we should all be vegetarians, we DO live longer :P
Does any of you smart cheeks know why this is being done? Or you prefer being funny and remain illiterate all the time
Sick weirdos, no wonder you end up either suiciding or wishing you were dead
@kamasheto
Let’s see… It is being done because Allah wanted to TEST his prophet Abraham(Ibrahim) and ordered him to sacrifice his child. Abraham of course didn’t use his brain to think that “an all knowing all merciful god would never demand such a thing” and went to sacrifice his son. Last minute before he cut his neck Allah sent an angel to replace the son with a sheep or something.
And to remember this story about not using your brains moslems sacrifice sheep, cows and whatever else every year.
The thing is: Why did allah have to test good old Abraham? I thought he is all knowing.
It’s not about testing him. The story is about how Abraham/Ibrahim was willing to sacrifice even his own son to Allah/Jahwe/God.
God was so moved by this he let him keep his son, and replaced it with a (sheep?)
I feel however that anyone willing to sacrifice his own (or anyone else’s) son deserves repeated kicking in the face, followed by several other things not suited for description.
to add to Agony’s otherwise correct explanation:
Most of the meat gained by the sacrifice in the Eid-ul-Adha is supposed to go to the poor. It’s mostly celebrate just like christmas with obilgatory family visits etc etc.
can we continue being funny now that we’ve proven WE do know what the hell we’re talking about about?
sorry if the above seems inapropriate, I don’t like being called a sick suicidal wierdo.
ps. mark the extreme self control i’m currently excerting by not attack you personally but actaully using arguments.
well, almost.
Naw, Alcari, your post was fine. The guy you responded to was just getting all high and mighty and holier than thou with us and your response was a LOT more reasoned and restrained than MINE would have been, had I even cared to respond. As my wife likes to say, I lack tact.
I’ll chalk kamasheto’s post up to projection.
I seem to have a made a lot of marks on that area of my religion tally sheet lately…

You are so busy looking for something religious to criticise that you don’t even realize cruelty to animals happens in Western countries too. see http://www.kfccruelty.com/
Because Westerners are alwaye looking East to find something to criticize, PETA had to resort to using a buxom blonde to get you guys attention. Evidently it hasn’t worked on you.
I think you just completely missed the point. And with style, too. Way to go, RandallJones. Way to go.
KFC may be cruel, but there’s something you need to understand, tortured animals TASTE BETTER.
The big difference here is that we get professionals to kill our livestock. If I want some steak to eat, or give away to my friends, family, or the poor, I go and buy it. Heck, I could even go to a ranch and pick out the cow and have them kill it for me. I don’t try to do it myself in the backyard just because it’s a religious holiday. Even without the religion this story would be funny.
I know a (frat) guy who ended up in the hospital because he got severely scratched and pecked by a chicken. He read something about how to slaughter chicken on the internet and thought he could do it himself. Trust me, if you don’t understand why people being ignorant jackasses and hurting themselves is funny, you will never understand American humor.
Wow, you missed the point too, but not by as much. ROFL.
Picture this: A huge crowd of Christians gather to celebrate Jesus in a large old abandoned stadium. During this holy event, the stadium then collapses on them. Pray tell, why would God do this to His followers during such an act of mass-worship? Therein lies the irony. At least, it should be ironic to a Christian. To the rest of of it’s just a freak accident, probably caused by all the ruckus they were making.
See? It’s funny because they all got maimed doing something stupid in the name of God. It should raise some flags for them, but it apparently doesn’t.
Now, if I was really there at the time, I probably wouldn’t find it very funny. But just as an idea, it’s hilarious.
By the way, when I say you missed the point, I mean that like RandalJones, you got sidetracked onto some silly animal rights issue instead of focusing on the issue raised in the story Gasmonso posted.
It’s happened to me once or twice too. I’ve noticed that the Muslim posters generally sidetrack the issue at hand rather than actually look at it. They like to point the finger elsewhere and say “well THEY (usually directed at jews) are THIS or do THAT”, or “well YOUR country does THIS or THAT!”. I still am not sure if they are really do this on purpose or if they were just trained to think that way. If the later part is true, then it certainly makes getting one of these guys to use rational thought a real pain in the ass, because it’s like a blind spot for them.
[/rant]
Arkits,
We are not trying to sidetrack you, we just try to show you the other side that you trying to ignore, the other side that would make you objective person, which is try to understand people befor to talk, try to see all the sides.
All the Athiests here is trying to get the good side of every thing, like scince is good because we are the one who supported, and they forgot that most of the scintest are Christian or Jews or Muslims, and even if they got opposed that’s healthy thing to happen, to make sure that it’s going to benefit the human being.
I hope that the Athiest is happy too about the ncuclear weapen and the cluster bombs, is it the scince too who casue this?, but when it comes to bombs which made by scince, they have nothing to do with it.
I hope you got my point, when something bad happens, it’s all the humunity not just certain part, it’s the people who did and the people who let it to happen.
3 Points:
Point 1.) We don’t need to be told this, and it makes you look kind of stupid to say that your reason for being here is to show everyone this obvious fact. The point we have all been making, which you can’t seem to understand, is that religions like the one you follow are directly responsible for a lot of the bad things, and there is a logical, proven, and easy to understand reason for how and why.
Point 2.) Once again, you are trying to blame atheism for something bad that happened. This time, you think bombs and nuclear weapons are it’s fault. We showed you before that atheism CAN’T be blamed for anything, BECAUSE ATHEISM DOESN’T TELL YOU TO DO ANYTHING. Atheism doesn’t tell you how to think either. Atheism is unlike religions, which tell you what to do and how to think. To obey this or that. Without any proof. Without even any credible evidence (we have proven this to you as well). THE ONLY THING ATHEISM DOES IS MAKE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN ACTIONS.
Point 3.) Saying how bad everyone else is doesn’t do one single thing to help your own case.
All three of these points have been told to you several times before. Yet it is as if you have forgotten them. Again.
Quick note: point 1 is talking about how Mohamed said bad things happen. Well, no shit. That’s obvious. Nobody is ignoring it anymore than someone could ignore the fact that you need to drink water to live.
