Reminds me of one of the discussions in the movie “JESUS WAS A TERRORIST”

Has anyone else seen this film? It would be interesting to find out based on this discussion who of us were offended vs. who of us were grateful the movie came out.

It’s my understanding that they’re sworn in as a group with their hands on nothing (well maybe their wallets) and then each might have a private swearing in ceremony where they can use Mein Kampf for all anyone knows. It is in this way that Ellison used the Koran.

This whole controversy is silly. It doesn’t matter what someone swears on, the whole point is that they pick something meaningful to them otherwise there’s no point. What would a muslim care if he breaks an oath he swore on a bible? What alleigence does he have to the bible?

It astounds me how much of a knee-jerk reaction people have to these things. It they just spent five minutes thinking it through, they should want him to swear on the Koran, but I guess they’re too busy yelling to do any such thing.
