Heh, as funny as it is, it’s also sad. They are poster children for religious intolerance and they show beyond a shadow of a doubt why if we are going to survive as a species religion MUST be either wiped out or moved from a singular focus in peoples life to a secondary thing. As long as people believe and live this strongly in their religion we will have crap like Iraq.

no prob, but i wonder how the would react if I came home with a girl in a long black dress, who demands i go with her to church every morning, pray four times a day, chuck out the TV etc etc.

I loved to hear the dad’s responce when he said christianity is the right religion “Accept my thruth or die!” this is great, most kids don’t get advance warnings like these to move out of the house.

You know, her parents never even considered that he could have been an Italian Jew; she never said “I’m dating a Roman Catholic guy.”

It’s terrifying how many assumptions people are willing to make off a simple description, and also raises that whole Jewish “race or religion” question that’s been discussed here before.

I do think that this was the conversation that happened over the weekend before the Jewish girl I dated in college before she told me we couldn’t date any more. I guess I’m about as kosher as an italian… though I like the kosher as a Christmas Ham line my roommate had better.

Its funny only until you realize that this is more common than we’d want to admit.

If those were my parents, I’d be far to ashamed of them to purposely display the heights of their ignorance on the radio.

Not only do they write it off as “family tradition”, neither the daughter nor the dj’s say ask why is the boyfriend’s race important. They apparently don’t see a problem with the attitude, it’s only funny because the family goes nuclear.
