Here’s a lost gem of entertainment that heralds back to the old school days of Monty Python’s Flying Circus. For those who didn’t even know they had a TV show, then you’re really in for a treat :) Monty Python was the Beatles of the sketch comedy world. Good times indeed.
Here’s a great skit entitled The Bishop. The Bishop travels around town with four henchmen in what appears to be an old Firebird. Hilarity and stupidity ensues. Enjoy this classic!

May British humor never die!
You have to post the Spanish Inquisition sketch now. It’s a requirement.

A lesson for the younger men: Reciting lines from Monty Python doesn’t impress girls.
Oh how I wish I had learned that earlier in life.
A lesson for the younger men: Date women that are impressed by reciting lines from Monty Python. You will find some wonderful women that way.
Indeed, Humanistic. I did just that.
I had always wondered why “The One” eluded me for so long…it’s because I’ve found no one who knows anything about the windspeed velocity of swallows!
Humanistic speaks the truth. But yes, this is a fantastic sketch. I wish comedy were still this good today.
I like monty python as much as the next guy but… I don’t egt it.
I doubt this will work
I don’t get it either.
Not every Monty’s sketch has a meaning. Some do, some have very deep ones, and some are just ridiculously funny.
The best ones are just like that, there is no clear cut, simplified punchline but you have to get it. Some never do but that goes with most jokes.

Could somebody please explain this sketch? I also don’t get it. Is this the kind of sketch that has a deeper meaning or is it a parody of something or is this one of those silly-type of sketch that’s funny because it’s so silly? :D
It’s simple. The usual spiritual illusion, like a mirage.
Monty python has the gift of presenting something that is the opposite of what it should be. Most of us tend to be tricked into believing that ‘bishophood’, like religion,
is the be and end all of human goodness. Introducing the sinister part of the human character into this sketch makes the whole thing seemingly irreal. Nevertheless, I do believe that chapman, cleese and co. were closer to the truth at that time and were probably afraid to admit it.
Then came ‘The life of Brian’ and thereafter all barriers fell. Windscreen wipers for our minds!!
Hmmm . . . but who was behind all these murderous bits of nefariousness? A radical cabal of militant athiests? ;)
Un blog muy interesante, te hace pensar. Agur
I’ve been surfing online greater than 3 hours as of late, but I by no means found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty price enough for me. Personally, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet might be much more useful than ever before.
