Back in September of last year, I reported on Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda, a charismatic preacher who claimed to be Jesus Christ. It has since brought him fame, fortune, and a large following. In my previous article I also made the claim that this story has all the makings of another Jonestown.
The situation has taken another step in that direction. Well at the very least it’s gotten really weird. Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda threw a curve to everyone by claiming that he is no longer Jesus, but the Antichrist. To mark this special occasion, Jose got a trendy little “666″ tattoo on his arm and even showed it off to his followers.
How did these highly educated, independent-thinking people react? Well they went down to a local tattoo parlor and got their very own sign of the beast emblazoned on their arms too. Unbelievable you say? Well watch the video and see this circus freak for yourself.

Do you think this guy is hiring? I think the benifits seem to be pretty good.
Organized religion has been a very lucritive business for what 5-10k years or ever since mystism has been used to explain away the unknown.
I would not focus so much on De Jesus as I would the people allowing him to make up thier minds. Miranda knows “exactly” what he is doing, along with a close group with him that are reaping the benifits of starting a God based business.
My amazment comes from the people (I heard as much as 400 million people) that seem to be looking for justification to do as they please and/or have someone guide them so that they do not have the burden of free thinking (responsibility comes with that one). But then again they are not the first group that has been lead by someone that has been contacted by a supreme being. I hear Jim Baker is back in business and doing well (unbelievable). There very well may be a Supreme Being that created all of this, but I find it a tad bit egotistical that we could fathom it and tell eveyone we have it figured out, not to mention a group of disgruntaled fisherman 2000 years ago who thought the world was flat and that the earth was the center of all things.
How much time and how many lives have been wasted by the religious fevor of each group to prove that they are the ones with the real answer. Nothing to my knowledge has caused as much grief and death as organized religion. I find it a bit ironic that people would look to find hope in anything that has for eons promoted the lack of hope by using thier beliefs to kill those that don’t believe as they do.
I think that I am getting a bit off track and I am not really sure that my babble is even making the points I had entended to. Think for yourself, live your life as well as you can without infringing on others and I believe you will live a good life. No worries. Thanks for listening anyway.

So, you were raised as a christian? Mum & Dad are believers? just curious.
Like I said in my previous post “I think that I am getting a bit off track and I am not really sure that my babble is even making the points I had entended to.” So I expect on that count I was right. My appologies.
The flat world thing was general knowledge at that time so it goes without saying that that was thier belief since thats what some one told them. The choices that these men made at that time was based on the knowledge that was available at that time. We have grown in knowledge since then but not so much in wisdom. As for the fishermen, a better adjective could have been used, but it is my opionion that they were disatisfied with thier current occupations and made a change which to some extent made them the first evangilists (no television yet). I only say this because outside of 3 basic religious units (the individual, the family and the community) organized religion has become and always was a very powerful and successful business (way to control the masses). Faith in your beliefs is an inner factor for humans, once you get outside of communities that have the same base beliefs then it switches to antagonistic activities (right or wrong is not the question just the sheer fact that human nature will make this a realality).
But lets see if I can better explain my view. I grew up in the teachings of Christianity and at one point became the Elder for our congregation, of which I was chosen by the individuals in this group and not by Divine intervention to lead them and guide them. (I am sure that the argument could be made that the congregation was guided to this decision) I like to think that I have taken the time to learn about the ideas, guidelines and even the history that this and most other religions have to offer. My issue is not with religion itself but with the eventual pollution of it by “MAN”. My belief that something greater then us created all things will never align with the explanations that have been set to ink by Man, but my own desire to live my life by a specific standard (which the teachings of most religions originally instilled in its people) that I have chosen will guide me to help make myself, my family and my community, for lack of a better word, Better.
How this relates to the topic here is that throughout time there have and will be individuals (and not isolated individuals)who prey upon what some call the weak or misguided. These people are not neccessarily weak, though many may fall into that generalized faction, they have developed an unquestioning dependance on others to guide them in a world that is difficult to understand.
I don’t neccessarily mean the physical world, but more towards the mystical world of religion. We have numerous universities and/or schools that are devoted to the understanding of the written word, and still no one has a complete understanding. This is where the difficulties start. Especially when you throw in the fact that most people see this as you believe it all or you are doomed to a miserable existance for all time. So as a race we have to some extent accepted the teachings of others even when we have no idea what they mean because we fear that we will not be accepted.
Much like you taking my reference to a Supreme Being and giving him/her/it a name that by your thoughts is the only answer and thus I must be wrong and need to hear the words of another man that took the time to write them down. Yet this name was given to this possible Supreme Being by “MAN”, which we know all men/women are truthful and trustworthy at all times. This gives De Jesus his power over all the individuals that have jumped abored his boat of riches. No challenge to beliefs make them easy targets and as his followers numbers grow so does the validity of his words (his words are not valid except in the perception of those that accept it without question).
He has associated himself with every prophet and/or apostle that have at one time or another stated that a messenger of God or God himself has spoken to him and given him a path to follow. So now if a man says that he has been instructed by God to say and do these things and we see him as a dangerous nut does that make those like Moses a dangerous nut as well? Scripture indicates that there will be false prophets but not who. Which makes him dangerous because he can justify his actions by unsubstantiated accurances. This scripture could be used to prove to his followers that he is what he says he is even though this refers to the Book of Life “Ezekiel ix. 4, where one of the six heavenly envoys “who had the scribe’s inkhorn upon his loins” is told to mark the righteous for life, while the remainder of the inhabitants of Jerusalem are doomed.” This makes it hard for people to distinguish them apart. This guy is no fool, false probably, but he has used these individuals unquestioning faith to control them. I in no way condone suport or sanction what this maniac is doing, but I was trying to say that we need to educate ourselves (the human race) to understand the world we live in and the many unanswered terrestrial and astrial parts we ponder. I have used this incident as an example to my Daughter who attends church regularly to pay attention and not to fear asking questions. Our own developed acceptance of things has made it possible for this guy and many others like him to exist as they do. The human race as a whole is a bit child like, we have increased our knowledge base over the years but we have as yet not really understood what to do with it.
I appreciate your need to have inner guidance from a power greater then yourself, how you refer to him is of course the choice that you, Mulisms, Jewish, Christians and countless other denominations have a right to do. I commend you on standing proudly for what you believe in and feel that you should surround yourself with those that think and believe as you do. This will in the end lead to a happier and more spiritually focused individual. Inner sanctity is where enlighten is achieved. This man is completely wrong but our own teachings have made him successful.
I hope that this little glimpse into my head helps explain my previous post and may help to generate questions (not neccessarily of me). I would ask though that if you are to use scripture in any following replies please ellaborate on what point you are making. Thanks again for your time.

Dino, there have been many times since the bible surfaced when some follower translated something from it to state that the end of the world would be on such-and-such date, or after some event takes place. Whats the evidence that they were wrong? The fact the universe still exists. If it doesn’t make sense think about it like Nostradamus or any of those people who claim to talk to dead people.

To me Predictions are very hard to set a solid date to as Nostradamus did many times, even In Scripture It would be ridiculous to set a a solid time or date on an occurrence. Such an example is if somebody said the AntiChrist will appear, May 10, 2010… That would be ludicrous.

Simple enough to test whether this guy is divine in the Christian sense. Take him out onto the ocean, throw him in: if he can walk on water, he’s Jesus; if he can’t, another Jonestown is averted when he drowns. No problem.

Well, i’m new to this site, but concerning Mr Miranda…. and its supposed connection to Revelation, theres one thing that is never brought up which has always bothered me, Satans Mark is in the Hands or Head, but God’s Mark is in the forehead. So my advise for any christians out there who believe the apocalypse is coming and wormwood will fall from the sky, is Choose Not, Want Not.

Well the thing is the mark of the beast can be placed on either the arm or the forehead. If this man is the Anti Christ as he claims then these are a very dangerous group of people. They can almost be classified more of then just a cult.
The time has not yet come for his return. For when the time happens everyone will know without a doubt. So if you have to ask then you will already know the answer. There is more then one anti-christ, there are many. When the time comes, the king of the anti-christ will come about and do many wonders. Do not be fooled for if you have to ask if this is him, then you know it is not. Do not look for him for he will come to you.
We are in the end of days. Many times people thought the end time was going to happen but has not. Why is this you may ask, well think of it as if someone was to give birth. Before the baby comes to be the mother must first have contractions. So, before the time of his coming, the world must have contractions as in must undergo disasters. Horrible events must take place. The closer and closer the events take place is the closer we will be to his arrival.
Do not let anyone tell the day of his coming for noone knows, not even his Angels. But live for him every momment of the day like if it is your last. Don’t think that you can ask for forgiveness for a sin you comment because what if he comes before you have a chance to ask for forgiveness. We are in the end times and painful times lay ahead. My favorite part of Jose Luis’ story is the fact that he got his 666 at a tattoo parlor. It makes me think of those long trips when I was a child, with my parents asking, “Tommy, why didn’t you go before we left the house?”
All I can think of is, if this delusional clown (I mean that in the most charitable sense, naturally) really was Antichrist, shouldn’t he have come from Hell pre-armed with the 666 already in place? Well obiviosly he’s probably the most laughed at person i know of… This is so ridiculous to everybody i have shared this story we just start laughing about it. This is so silly… Wow… I can’t even believe how stupid his followers must be or either they never read the Bible in their lives only listened to what he tells them… Titus 3:3, “For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.” Titus even writes about this how foolish people will be and they will be led astray but this is like so ridiculous.. May GOD forgive each one of them and may they turn back and ask the Lord forgiveness….

First of all this guy really is a false prophet. People should not be listening to anything he is saying. Second I will continue to pray for all of the atheists and the people who are being brainwashed by this man and all the people being controlled by people like him. I you want you can call me a Jesus freak and say that I “cling to a Bible” I am glad that I have God in my life and thankful for everything that He has given me. Third quoting scripture is not “hiding behind the Bible” it is backing up facts i.e. that God is real and so is Jesus Christ who sits at the right hand of the Father until the final day of judgement comes. I attend church on a regular basis and even teach a Sunday school class. As for the atheists I have one question for you… Why are you discussing religion and faith if you believe in neither?

The bible itself is also demonstrably false, for example in regard to how the earth was populated, and is also self-contradictory, claiming both a flat and a circumnavigable earth.
So, considering that you said “First of all this guy really is a false prophet. People should not be listening to anything he is saying.”, you should also ignore the bible (I wish that others would as well.)

Have you ever picked up a bible and read it? It is not self-contradictory and I will not “ignore the bible” because it is the truth and hopefully one day you and people like you will realize that. Maybe you should try going to church with an open-mind and really listen to what is being said before you start running around again and say “Religion is ridiculous”. I will pray for you. :)

Save your worthless prayers and do some thinking instead. Obviously I’ve read your ridiculous bible; sadly, it’s next to impossible to avoid in North America. For your part, you should take a read of “Letter to a Christian Nation” by Sam Harris; the statements therein are vastly better supported than those in the bible, and it will help you to leave your Christian superstitions behind. Christianity is just one more myth that should go into the dustbin of history, and it isn’t even original in its fables, having stolen many of them from prior myths.
Your bible as noted elsewhere in this forum, and as acknowledged by Christians, claims both a flat earth, and a spherical one. How is that not contradictory, just for starters? And how old does the bible claim the earth is, in your interpretation?
No prayer has ever been answered. No miracle has ever been proven. Religion is ridiculous.
