I remember growing up as a kid and watching Saturday morning cartoons. It was a fantastic part of my childhood that brings back many fond memories. Whether it was the Smurfs, Super Friends, Tom & Jerry, Spider-Man, Dungeons & Dragons, or even the Care Bears, the premise was simple… provide children with an innocent form of entertainment and carry them to far off lands for a 30-minute adventure. Whether or not you even learned anything was irrelevant, this was all about fun! But that was America. I’m not sure what cartoons our European neighbors watched but I would assume it was a similar experience.
Over in the Middle East things are a tad bit different… at least if you’re Palestinian. Al Aqsa TV has taken it upon themselves to air a very original series for children. Think of it as Mickey Mouse with a dash of Adolf Hitler and a smidge of Osama Bin Laden.
The future looks bright for our children :)

Hi Brian,
There will be a guy which we call him Elmassekl eldagal, I don’t how to explaing his name in English, but he is similar to the anti christ, but he is not anti christ( I mean in the meaning), he will tempt the people and he will do mircales, only believers will see liar word on his forehead, and a lot of people will follow him, the only place that he can’t go as I remember is Mecca, he is not allowed to be there, and he never get childern, and he will be with one eye.
At the end Jesus will come back with the help of Gabrial and he will kill the Anti christ, and then Jesus will destroy the cross and he will tell people the truth that he is not a god or even son of god, and then he will die, and that will be the biggest sign of the judgment day, nobody will be forgiven after this day if he didn’t believe in god before.
Absloutly he is a bad man, it will be the worst temptation will face human being, and I hope I don’t get this day.
Wow, your eschatology is as nasty as the christians. Glad I don’t believe. Anyway, why can’t he go to Mecca, and indeed why can’t I go to Mecca? I have 2 eyes and I don’t have liar tattooed on my forhead ;)
It’s not tattoed by the way, it just going to show to the believers, Why can’t you go to Mecca, I really don’t know the specific answer for that, and I’m serious and honest and I’m not runing away from the question, I never been intersted to know the answer.
I wouldn’t say nasty, I would say scary( might be), but if you think about it, it could happen, things worse happend before and it still happens so far(war in Iraq), we just don’t feel it, but if you experinced it, you will find this nasty things happen today.
We say war is awfull, but we don’t really know what war really mean, other than seeing it in the news, but experince war is a differnet issue, I have met people in Egypt fought in war, and I can tell you, they still damaged inside even after 20 years after war.
I have no doubt people are damaged by war. I agree that I have no idea what war is like also. I’m surprised that you say worse things can happen. It is supposed to be the end of the world after all. But perhaps you feel that you are on the side of the “winners” and don’t think it’s the scariest thing out there.
Anyway,I’m not really interested in going to Mecca, just wondering if there was a reason why non muslims aren’t allowed to…
Who told you I’m in the winner side, I told you I wish I don’t see that day, I don’t if I’m doing enough or not to be true believer, I’m just trying, that’s all I can do.
No Muslims gurantee any thing, and if you meet a Muslim and he told I gurantee the heaven, tell him behalf on me you are stupid, or he talk like he gurantee it, no he is a real stupid.
If I’m defending Islam, I’m doing because I believe it’s the right thing, that doesn’t mean I’m a perfect person, I’m still human-being( sometimes weak), but at the end I know how mercifull god is.
Sorry man, just your comment about worse things happened before. Thought maybe you felt comfortable with it. Tell me, is it true that when a muslim dies, he or she believes that 2 angels come down and ask them a few questions about god and the prophet and based on how good a muslim they were when alive, they’ll give the correct answers? And if they pass they’ll remain in their grave, nice and cosy until the time that gabriel and jesus come back and kill the anti christ or if they’re judged bad, they’ll be tormented by the angels until the end of time except on fridays?
Most of what you said is true, and add to that you the devil show as your parents and he tries to tempt you to deny god existence, and if you are truly believer, you will deny them, and it’s true that two angels will ask you these questions.
I don’t know about except on Fridays, not really sure about this part.
I’m sorry sometimes I don’t asnwers, and I can’t make up answers, that’s against Islam.
Don’t be sorry, just asking. Thanks for your honesty.
It strikes me as really a terrible thing to have to “look” forward to. I mean, even if you are good and pass the test. You have to hang around in your grave, be it nice until the end of time. I’ve never really liked the idea of heaven. I mean, it sounds really boring, being all happy, healthy and nothing new to learn. But that’s just my impression.
I’m going home now, so you have yourself a great weekend my friend. Take care.
I need to get some sleep too, we can resume our talking later.
Have a good weekend too, and I hope Utah Jazz wins on Saturday( go Jazz )
I’d just like to point out that ghetto Mickey Mouse there is wearing his gloves on the wrong hands.. notice the lines are in his palms… Yeesh..
These poor kids. I really hope that not too many kids watch this brainwashing garbage… then again their are some just as bad Christian Channel programs for children.
Less not forget that Jesus Camp.
Why can’t kids just be kids? Why ruin them with forcing your agenda on them? It’s just wrong…
Can I ask a question of Mohammed in all humility in ignorance as a Western Atheist and, I suppose, an Infidel? I’m not being funny or clever, I simply want to know – if a martyr in paradise has 72 virgins, what do the women get? Sorry, but I didn’t get this from my reading of the Qu’ran. I repeat, this question is submitted in humility and ignorance. I’m no proffessor or preacher, just a guy trying to understand. Where do ther women stand? Cheers, Mohammed, for your consistently forthright views.
I never red alot about heaven, and what exactly man or woman will have.
The only thing that I want to point out, people think that the Muslims think about the virgins and that’s why they want to go to heaven, that’s plain stupid, the most thing Muslims want heaven to see god face, and to be in Prophet Muhammed company( that’s the highest degree in the heaven), but for the virigns that’s mostly West probegand, and the terroeist using to get the ignorant people to do what they want, which leads to one more point, people in ME doesn’t even have money to get married or do any thing, and that’s why may the terroirst is using this method to get more people in their side.
Stop watching Fox news, that’s when you became ignorant:)
Urg… who watches Fox news?!
I always found it funny that Fox news is so far right that they shit crucifixes…. but Fox network programming is some of the most, unintelligent, sexually explicit, morally wrong and downright anti-right winged agenda stuff you see on tv.
What’s up with that?
When I watch fox news, I feel like I’m watching Egyptian news, they just keep cheering for the president, not matter what he did?
And they always against Islam.
I have one question and it’s about all the American media, when there a show about Islam, why they always get non Muslims to answer questions about Islam? seriously I can’t find answer for that.
What about this, then. What if some of the contributors to this site came to Egypt and had a chat with Mohammed. What if we put our money where our mouths were, and turned up in person? I personally think that Mohammed is a decent guy who is really quite couragious in his defnce of Islam. Why can’t we give him a try? What are we afraid of? Who knows, we might find that we were wrong! Mohammed, my man, give me an invite!(Iknow this sounds a bit lighthearted but that’s just my style. I mean it seriously).
Mike@Blackpool UK,
Why do we need to travel to Egypt? Why isn’t the media doing its job and informing us of the different type of people in the world? Were is this freedom of speech Westerners like to talk about? The mainstream media is a propoganda tool for certain Western countries to convince their citizens that it is acceptable to bomb countries to kill hundreds of thousands and use depleted uranium and chemical weapons to destroy the people and their environment.
We should be contacting various media outlets asking why they don’t show us the different types of Muslims? They often paint Muslims in a one-dimensional way: the angry bearded men protesting and burning an american flag and their women as voiceless and wearing black from head to toe. Photographs leave a bigger impression on peope than words. Because most people don’t read about current affairs. Often magazines and books that have a article related to islam, will have on their cover, a picture of a Muslim women with her face covered. The majority of Muslim woemn do not cover their faces.
It is said that Walt Disney was an anti-semite and most people accuse Hamas of being anti-Semitic?
So you would think people would be saying that mickey mouse and Hamas TV go together.
Here is an article about the history of children’s cartoons and racism in America
http://web.media.mit.edu/~ayah/MediaTheories/#5
What about today’s children’s cartoons, where the differnt characters are blowing each other up or are shooting each other in the face, but they always manage to survive and get right back up to commit more acts of vioelnce? Does this influence our children to think they can commit a violent act and there are no real negative consequences to it?
Mike,
I would like to do it, but I actually live in USA right now, and I go back to Egypt every two years.
Actually there is something I have to mention and I think I will have topic about it in my blog, where I will describe how people changed in Egypt for the worse, and what cause that to happen.
Last trip to Egypt was a lot of frustration to me, for so many reason, it will take me hours to explain how people changed and why.
The reason is not the Islam, in contrary the lack of Islam changed people a lot and make them scary even for me.
I’m seriously don’t know what to do to change people and turn them back to how they used to be, but in doing that, my family might be presecuted in Egypt, or I might be arrested as a spy if I went back to Egypt.
It’s really sad to say what I’m saying, but I really hate the governement in Egypt and I hate they way they turn the people into.
Mohamed you have mentioned you have a blog, where is it?
DO you know that when you are posting a comment, where there is a box that says next to it “Website” you can put the address of your website so that after posting your comment there will be a link to it and people can access it if they click on your name at the top of your comment.
Try it.
More importantly,, here is a three part analysis of the MEMRI and the Palistinian children’s program

I posted a video in my blog, it’s the first video I edited, there is more to come, it’s really time consuming, but I really enjoy it. It’s not the only side of Egypt, There are a lot different sides of Egypt.
Check this link and you will find the video I’m talking about: http://egypt.terapad.com/
Please put your comment and tell me was it the same like you imagined or was it differnet
Mohammed:
You think you hate your government? Try living in England, the ‘Cradle of Democracy’. Sorry, guy, but they’re all wankers. And nice advertising about the necklaces on the website. Not my style.
Ronald Jones, thank you for the tip.
There is no way to compare England to Egypt, people in Egypt has no value, it’s really frustrating.
***To all those who are so worried about a couple of minutes of a television program, where is your concern about how Jewish settlers attack and harass Palestinians to prevent them from going to school?
When American volunteers escorted
Palestinians to school, some of the volunteers were brutally beaten and their bones were broken. See
http://www.wrmea.com/archives/December_2004/0412013.html
Where is the media attention and outcry over Jewish hatred and terrorism against the Palestinian children and the American activists?
I think if people saw what’s going on in Palestine, they will understand why this kind of show already exist.
looks like i’m the only one here at the moment…..but anyway….
i dont think the translation is fully correct-and even if it is,it does not portray the thoughts if the majority of the muslims and palestinians for that matter!!!
i have a palestinian friend in my class whose grandparents live in gaza-how would it feel not beind able to go visit them or have them visit you- I think brother mohamed is right the tele can make people believe in strange things!:)
i feel really free as a feel exposed to both sides of the story considering the fact that i live in dar-es-asalaam, tanzaina(its in east africa by the way)
good to see people expressing their views so freely!
anyway- peace to all!
salaam alaykum!
fatema!
hey fatima,
Living in Haifa-Israel I have quite another view on the matter.
Agony,
Living in the United States, I can tell you that the vast majority of the mainstream media portrays the Israeli side sympathetically and often leaves out the negative stuff about Israelis. Meanwhile, the negative aspects of the Palestinians is emphasized, their side is hardly represented in the mainstrteam media.
RandalJones,
Well, they do get covered quite a lot on arabian channels(for example al-jazeera), so put the two together and tell me what you see.
To be frank: I see two children fighting and the next day arguing who started the last fight and getting into another fight, and so on and so on.
Agony,
I am sure the Palestinian side gets presented on Arab Language TV. But unfortunately “might makes right” and regardless of what the Palestians do, if the United States and Israel don’t like how things are going, they will use their military might to disrupt things and create chaos.
Yo can find some sources in the West that presents the Palestian side, but they rarely get the mainstream media’s attention. See http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article7030.shtml
Hi Agony.
I think I might be able to understand what you are saying- but I still feel the agony and pain the palestinians are feeling is being greatly understated everywhere(ie:media).
Considring the fact that you live in Israel- I Undertand that it might be more difficult to comprehend what they are going through.
Just wondering whether you have actually met a sincere palestinian and tried to excgange views with him/her. I guess that will be a different angle from which to look at the entire episode- if I can call it that.
Salaam Alaykum!
Peace to all!
Fatema!
And one more point I feel is worth mentioning,
even if you dont speak to a good palestinian- I still feel that the palestinians deserve alot more sympathy than the isrealis(mostly atleast). And I dont think you need to be a muslim nor have a degree in morality (that is if such a thing even exists-lol), I think a little humanity should suffice.
What do you think?????
Fatema!
Hello fatema,
I do feel more sympathy for the Palestinians than the Israelis. Mostly I feel this because of current persecution they endure (though some of it is self-caused). I also have a lot of respect (even envy) of Israel as a vibrant democracy with an engaged citizenry, even though I disagree with some of their decisions.
Funny, I had some hesitation in writing the first part of that paragraph. I actually thought of the possible social repercussions of admitting as much in public. In the US, there seems to be a social taboo against saying anything that can be construed as anti-Israeli. Do any of my fellow Americans feel this pressure as well?
sidfaiwu,
Yeah, I feel that too. I think people want to make other people out to be as one-dimensional as possible. If I say I hate rap music, it must be because I hate Blacks. If I’m pro-choice, I must be pro-abortion as well. If I criticize the President, I must be a Democrat. If I am against current Israeli foreign policy I must be anti-Semitic.
In reality, I just don’t like rap that much. I liked earlier rap like NWA and Run DMC, but this new stuff is just boring and repetitive. I think in many cases abortion is not the correct choice, but I also believe you have a right to make that incorrect choice. I am a Republican, but I think that Bush and the next crop of candidates are not really Republicans (excluding Ron Paul — he’s the man). I believe that the States should be as autonomous as possible and the federal government as limited as possible, and that is the definition of Republican. All this crap about “morality” like gay rights (I’m for it), abortion rights (for it), and especially religion (I’m atheist) have nothing to do with wanting to run the country like a Republic. The patriot act, the out-of-control spending, the war, etc. were are very un-Republican moves. But now I’m just ranting.
I can abhor what Israel is doing on the global front without hating Jews.
And I think many of us can agree that it is possible to hate Christianity without hating Christians. Hate Islam without hating Muslims. Hate Scientology without hating Scientologists. And oddly enough, hate Linsday Lohan but still like the movie Mean Girls.
Sidfaiwu,
I agree with you about all what you are saying, I think you are one of the most objective people I see on this site, you know how to sperate your self from your emotion.
Doed IPhone has any thing to do with religion(just kidding), I’m just going to die if I read more news about IPhone(off topic), I feel like I’m not going to release heaven if I didn’t get one:)
I’m not getting one any way.
@Fatema,
Sorry but unlike sid, I do not feel much sympathy for people who inflict damage on themselves(through ignorance, stupidity or any other means).
I have some distant relatives living in Gazza, so do you think that’s close enough?
Sidfaiwu-
I do agree with you but I also fell that MAJORITY of the pain that the palestinians are suffering is NOT self-inflicted.
Unfortunatley this I feel is a difficult situation for them and it would have been fot us too, if we were in their situation- I feel you might agree with me.
I think you are among those people who want to know the truth, ulike quite alot of people. I do thereore respect and agree with your views too.
Fatema.
And Agony,
Its amazing to hear that you have palestinian relatives. I really cant say how YOU feel about them, I suppose it depends on how you take them(and I guess thats a question:))And as I said Most of their pain is not self-onflicted and even if it is I dont think its intentional- I mean it sounds like turning the heat on in a room where you’re practically burning to death!-I dont know thats my opinion, Whats yours?
Fatema.
Fatema,
Sid is one of the really smart people in this site, I feel jelouse sometimes for how smart he is, I think there a few people like that here in this site, on the other side you have to face somebody exactly the opposite.
“Its amazing to hear that you have palestinian relatives. I really cant say how YOU feel about them, I suppose it depends on how you take them(and I guess thats a question:))”
Sorry, I dont understand the question.
“I mean it sounds like turning the heat on in a room where you’re practically burning to death!-I dont know thats my opinion, Whats yours?”
I think that’s what they were(and are still) doing. intentional or not.
It seems as if Sidfaiwu is an intellectual force on this site except for the part where he agreed with Andrew on liking Mean Girls :P
Thanks for the compliments, Mohamed and Bunnies4Buddha, it’s enough to make me blush (though if you want to see a real intellectual tour de force, ask Jagannath about the Bible). But you did make one error, Bunnies4Buddha, I’ve never even seen Mean Girls, much less know if I like it. Based on what I’ve heard about it, I would not.
Also, the only reason I may appear smart is because I try to only comment on stuff I know something about. For instance…
Fatema,
I honestly don’t know all of the Palestinians’ difficulties and cannot comment on how much of it is self-cause and how much of it is externally-caused. I do think that enough of it is externally caused to warrant my sympathies. I hope their lot improves soon.
I’m a muslem. I felt really sad when I saw this but please be a little more objective and ask yourselves why do Arabians hate Israel. There is at least a member of each Palastenian family that have been killed by Israel army. Beleive me but These programs are not a reason of violence, it’s a result of it.
Being a victim of violence does not justify advocating violence, Sally. I’m appalled by some of the actions of the Israeli army as anyone, but that doesn’t excuse teaching hatred to children.
The plot thickens.

I had to repost her comment, because she is sincere about this. I find it sad that people take the innocence out of the liitle children. I look forward when our Father in heaven deals with these types of people who prevent the children from looking unto Christ Jesus. Remember what he said, suffer not the children to come unto me, better watch out for they will not enter the Kingdon of God.
