Us atheists seem to get assailed by religious loonies at times.

There was a period a few years back when every new person I met, chap I shared a house with, one I worked with, two I did some voluntary work with, was a born again (post mental breakdown in two cases) Christian who wanted to show me the light. I even got accosted twice in that year by nice black ladies on the London underground coming up and telling me Jesus loved me.

Maybe the "please convert me" sign has rubbed off since.

oh yes, security is top priority, though I believe the last "hack" was simply by injection? That shouldn't be to hard to fix with a filter that allows only alpha-numeric and interpucntion.

Speaks the programming noob.

One change for registered users comes to mind, a blacklist for commenter names so one can easily filter out comments which one knows are mere chaff, liturgic or bothersome.

Simon Bond, no need to apologize. Jayman's statement is true.
"I would like to know how you can take a single persons statement, concerning his thoughts or opinion, and take it into a global paradigm for a universal judgment."

I remember when RRock was here and jayman's response to us... lol. i do admit it was funny, in a good way.

I know how Jayman feels and remember his "lonely during your absence" for Gasmonso.

i look forward to the various upgrades that Gasmonso mentioned.

i was just joking when i said, i’m glad, i am one of those trusted users:)

if anyone is trusted, i think you would take the top slot and that's the truth.

cheers mate.

I know it's been a long time in the making, but I'm back on track :) I already have the code to allow for user submitted articles/links, but I have to contend with one annoying thing... and that thing is security.

I need to make sure that any code I put up on this site is secure because I receive a regular supply of emails threatening to hack my site and/or kill me :(

Many of you remember when I was successfully hacked a while back. I don't want that to happen again... I won't let that happen again!

But let's not let those freaks rain on our parade :)

Howdy all,

In this case I think the truth may be relative to the person whose posting. Jayman may have found the website to be a tad lonely for him while gasmonso was away. Just because you haven't found it so doesn't mean that from his perpective that the statement isn't true. So if you are going to make the call that Jaymans' statement is false I would like to know how you can take a single persons statement, concerning his thoughts or opinion, and take it into a global paradigm for a universal judgment. Particullaly given the highly subjective nature of the statement.

I will admit I am probably making a mountain out of a mole hill here. I do however think the concept of truth, particullaly in a subjective or universal sense is well worth understanding. While you may beleive that you are merely making a friendly comment to the effect that it wasn't that bad while gasmonso was away. It does highlight that your viewpoint of the reality of the situation comes only from your perpective. It does not include any allowance for other viewpoints external to your own.

On its own your one post here would not jump out at me quite so strongly but it does seem to be a reacurring theme in the points you make.

A suppose my aproach does delve into the philisophical exploration to a depth unnessecary for this particular forum and topic. I aplologise for this. I am unfortuanely feeling a tad existential today. So the exloration of universal versus subjective truth was just to hard for me to ignore.

Please feel free to ignore this post if you do not wish to answer such a large wall of text concerning a subject that has very little to do with the subject matter at hand or any real pratical application to the changes on a website.

Cheers

Howdy all,

hyrocket please define true in the context of your post. I also think you have posts and articles mixed up when you state that you are "one of those trusted users".

Cheers
