Their death has been foreseen and in their love, wisdom and nobility they have accepted it. Knowing that from the ashes of their sacrifice a new a better world will be born for their children.

This is the sacrifice you scorn. This is the better world you choose to give up. This is the end and the beginning you choose not to see. The suffering of one man upon a cross has turned your eyes from the truth. You talk of life and forget the children of the true gods that where slaughtered in Christs name. What is the suffering of one man who gets to reside in paradise with his father compared to the Sacrifice of all the true Gods to oblivion, all for the sake of their children. No paradise for them. No hall of heros.

Snurp, sometimes i wonder if my faith is like his, sometimes i wish, i could have faith like his, but through the LIFE that Jesus offers helps me build up my faith. The LIFE He offers has been tested(by me) and I can’t turn away from HIM, the LIFE he GIVES is so SWEET!

if you know Jesus in your heart Snurp, that questions has been take car of, putting it on the shoulders of the ONE that gives LIFE and ask not to take another.

Shaze, I can certainly understand the frustration that can lead to your current train of thought. Unfortuneately I must disagree with your concept. Leaving all arguments of effectiveness aside, there are two points I would like to make.

I don’t see how you can discipline people on there beliefs or thoughts. There actions however are a different story. If somebody believes that medicine is is a miricle fine I have no problem with that. It’s the murky water of where they impose that belief on a child or family member and endager their life that rules must be placed. You cannot and I do not believe you should dictate to people what they think or believe. Such actions would be commiting the same injustice that the religous types would like to impose on us. Somewhere along the lines rules would be imposed against something you believe in and the situation would end up being the same.

Second I think you should think along these lines. If Hyprocket said to you that everytime you implied or suggest that the christian God was a fallacy he would punch an athiest in the face. Would that change the way you feel? I would doubt it. It does highlight how you feel but I hope it doesn’t demonstrate the way you act.

It’s true, violence is NEVER the answer to any question; intelligent or not. Is violence really the answer to religion and ignorance though? Well that sir, is where me and you seem to differ.

There are too many what-if’s to eliminate the possibility that disapline could not correct these problems. I am all for laws forbidding the religious from doing anything within society until they have been educated properly. You’re religious? No voting for you. Beleive that birth or medicine is a miracle? No hostipals for you. Think Bush or Conservative values should be embraced by everyone? You can’t vote.

You wanna convert someone or preach your religion over others? Go live in Israel.

At this point I dunno sid, I would feel good if hyrocket tells his family and friends we’re violently opposed to his way of thinking.

Everytime you say something stupid hyrocket, I’m going to punch a christian in the face.

Is violence really the answer to religion (or any ignorance)? I really don’t think so. Violence is often the result of irrationality and ignorance. That is one of the main reasons I oppose it. Using violence to achieve that goal is hypocritical and counter productive.

It also fuels the stereotype of the immoral atheist. Hyrocket may go back to his Christian friends and family and say, “I tried talking to some atheists until they threatened to beat up Christians if I talked about Jesus”. This would confirm everything they assume about atheists.

Please, stick to rational arguments and evidence.
