I’d like to thank Faith TV on the Sky Angel Network for taking television programming to new lows. This Christian network, which prides themselves on family values, is carrying Flamethrower, a new “cutting-edge political show” that will challenge Islam and undoubtedly praise Christianity.
Flamethrower has been described as a low-budget, gritty cross between the “The Daily Show,” “The Colbert Report,” and “The View” if Ann Coulter were the producer. Yea that made me cringe too! Furthermore the cast members are all flaming Christians and consider themselves the next generation of conservatism. The future is bleak indeed.
I will say one thing about this show. It is definitely what The View would be if Ann Coulter were the producer. Just look at this teaser trailer and you’ll see why. The cast members dress in Muslim clothing and there are enough guns on the wall that it appears as if the show were filmed in some Redneck’s pickup truck. To top things off they threaten to devour a cookie featuring the depiction of Muhammed.

I actually found it slightly amusing.
I propose a challenge inspired by this silliness.
One guy walks around the Vatican screaming “JESUS WAS A DONKEY FUCKER!” at the top of his lungs.
Another guy walks around Mecca screaming “MOHAMMED WAS A DONKEY FUCKER!” at the top of his lungs.
See who gets his head lopped off first. Or set on fire.
No real winner or loser, I’d just like to see what would happen.
I volunteer the people in this video as our test subjects.
sometimes i wish we had this outrageous shit in australia to mock.
but then i *wake up* and thank fuck we dont have these religious conservative goons that you guys are stuck with.
I just love these people’s logic, “look at these crazy muslims!! How could they not be christian? don’t worry, they’re going to hell, so they aren’t real people.”
LOL
yeah. i guess that kind of logic was one of the first things that made be begin to think that christianity/religion was a crock of he say-she say… i remember some ‘friends’ chuckling about islam and how they are waiting for their messiah and that “they’d be waiting a while” chortle chortle… and then another ‘friend’ who actually believed that “only catholics go to heaven”
I just started back to classes and my sociology professor is one those “everyone can tell but no one says anything” type of gay guys. Being the devils advocate that I am, there is no way I’m not going to start the debate/soon-to-be-shouting-match between him and one of the jesus freaks in the class.
Me: “Well, professor, I think what slowed down the acceptance of gays in society was the christians, I mean how can they really respect homosexuals if they think that they are all going to hell?”
It’s just too fun to not do it.
Jayman but then i *wake up* and thank fuck we dont have these religious conservative goons that you guys are stuck with.
I think that unfortunately, they are here, just festering below the surface and hoping to emulate their american cousins. Two weeks ago I saw the scientologists setting up their “psychiatry – industry of death” shopfront on broadway in sydney. Hillsong gets bigger every year (although I suspect that is offset by the haemoraging membership of the catholic and anglican churches). I personally know 5 people who are born-again enough to do the whole witnessing thing in the workplace, and I suspect they would just LOVE to have some more U.S. style freakery over here – I though I think only one of them would approve of this video… that would require an actual character flaw…
It’s all in the word ‘extremism’.
Moslims aren’t the problem nor are Christians. They all believe their time will come.
It’s the fanatics who want to speed things up because they can’t wait to be right.
Funny actually, because that’s the kind of behaviour both religions frown upon.
In the meanwhile we musn’t cover the negative critisism (against any of the religions) up by censoring it.
It will only work counterproductive and create more negativity.
Well, I for one am happy to see that organised religion, in The Netherlands, is actually still on the decline. The churches are still emptying, even though more and more are getting superstitious.
The number of Christians is shrinking, and the only reason the number of muslims is rising is because of the number of immigrants.
I guess getting rid of organised religion is better then nothing, but unorganised religiion is, unfortunatly, growing.
“I think that unfortunately, they are here, just festering below the surface and hoping to emulate their american cousins.”
make no mistake, im well aware they are around, but the important thing is that they arent mainstream and most people are very suspicious of them. we have the Assemblies of God nutbags in SA and their awful ‘Family First’ political wing. Though with Family first not gaining anything in the last election, I think its safe to say that people are wising up to their bullshit.
Its quite interesting to realise that although Hillsong/AOG looks large and on the rise, they have a very high turnover of ‘followers’ – most get disillusioned or chucked out for not being pious enough.
LOL @ Irishthunder.
Let us know how it goes, hehe
Oh boy, another propaganda filled christian show. Those people sure are proud of themselves, they make fun of one group of fairytale believers while… yes, believing in their own outrageous fairytale. Talk about idiots making fun of idiots.
