The following is a public service announcement from ReligiousFreaks.com:
It has come to my attention that there is an evil Jew running for election in the Christian town of Memphis, Tennessee. What’s worse is that he’s a white Jew in a predominately black district! OMG!$#%$
Obviously Rep Steven Cohen was trying to keep his “faith” and color a secret and sneak by on the issues alone. Well lucky for us though, Reverend George Brooks of not-so-nearby Murfreesboro, Tenn. wasn’t asleep at the wheel. This Christian Brother of the struggle has stepped up to the plate! Brooks did the community a service by plastering the town with these lovely flyers to inform and educate the masses. Complete story here.
What would Jesus do you ask? Well here’s your answer!

Breathtaking bigotry. Imagine _anyone_ suggesting that a black man can’t represent a predominantly white district! ‘Rev.’ George Brooks is a closed-minded racist. Just like his beloved Jesus was.

Just goes to show, its actually harder than you would think to find a good christian. :)

And to think, in the sixties the black community and the Jewish community were united in the civil rights movement. Another case of “one step forward, two steps back.” What I’d like to see in this instance is a statement against anti-semitism from the Christian community in general and the black Christian community specifically. Will I see that? I guess only time will tell . . .

The blatant…inaccuracies asides,
If the address and phone number listed on the flyer belong to this so-called reverend’s cult…er, church, wouldn’t that make this flyer a direct violation of their non-profit status?

Murfreesboro Reverend

HATE grammar

Absolutely hilarious. I’ve no idea what the poster is really trying to say. What happens if there are two or more black christians in a race against Cohen the Jew?
February 15th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
They split the black vote and the Jew gets in by default, hence the emphasis on ‘One Black Christian’.
I’ve got $50 that says the ‘Rev’ would support a non-Black Christian over a black atheist.

Dunno, as it is an entirely straight religious declaration rather than anti-semitism masquerading as something else it is at least honest.

blacks it is sad. one black christian calling all black leaders to lead in this election.
do we really have to look far for hate?
on cnn.com, “On Friday, police were still struggling to figure out why a seemingly polite, well-respected graduate student named Steven Kazmierczak had shot and killed five students at Northern Illinois University and then turned the gun on himself.”
“Just like his beloved Jesus was.” I am curious Sid, how can you put this on Jesus. Do we not control our hearts, for the love we have for one another? You blame Jesus, but where do we take responsibilities for our own desires that is in us?
Is not Steven one of your own? No, he is one like us, man!

hyrocket, I think you missed the point there with sid’s Jesus comment.

He did misread my Jesus comment, but looking back at it, I can understand why. I’d best explain. As far as I know, Jesus was very inclusive. This is diametrically opposed to ‘Rev.’ Brook’s narrow views on what makes a good politician. I was trying to highlight the irony between Brook’s racism and his professed religion.
