“No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!” The Catholic Church acting as apologist for the Inquisition? Choosing what documents to reveal and what to keep secret? Yeah, and I’ll bet you they can sell me a bridge in Brooklyn for a very fair price . . . by the way, love the new look gasmonso.

My family are all Catholic, and have been trying to tell me for years that the horrors of the Inquistion are just propaganda from those wishing to destroy God’s Church. It is their way of trying to reconcile their faith with the horrors of its past. I can’t decide if I feel sorry for the willingly deluded or worried that they can actually affect the future through official forgetfulness.
