I’m from Lebanon and I’ve never seen this before. This is completely fucked :/
I’m sorry, but this is an extremely offensive post. These are extremely rare photos, however even if this was common, it was purely due to love of Hussain. Do you even know what Ashura is? Who the Imam Hussain was? These kids understand, your mindless head will NEVER. Coldless heart.
Yes, Hussaini, your post is very offensive. The photos exist and are real, so however rare, some significant number of people interpret your same bizarro sky fairy tale differently than you do. Blame your (non-existent) allah-walla-walla for that, since he’d be the one too incompetent at the god game to get a consistent message out.
But your last line is great. I have a coldless heart, for sure. Allah-walla-walla-shebang-bongo-boingo to you, girlie.
RAmen.
This practice is completely cultural and has no Islamic basis. You can’t generalise by associating a cultural practice to an entire school of thought. As a Shia Muslim, I wholeheartedly disapprove of this practice.
Instead of spending time mocking a cultural practice, why not spend some time appreciating the value of what Imam Hussain (as) stood for on that day (Ashura), and ask yourself why 1300 years later his message is relevant enough to be commemorated by millions worldwide. It’s a universal message, you might learn something. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMFHVk5obcs
Bullshit, Hassan. Others interpret Islam as supporting Ashura, so if your interpretation differs from theirs, then ask yourself why your Allah can’t get his message out more reliably. There’s a damn good reason for that, and the reason is that Allah doesn’t exist.
And like Janie said, Allah-walla-walla-shebang-bongo-boingo to you, girlie. Let’s add a refrain now and sing along, ya’ll. Here we go around again,
Allah-walla-walla-shebang-bongo-boingo-shebang, Allah-walla-walla-shebang-bongo-boingo.
Allah-walla-walla-shebang-bongo-boingo, Allah-walla-walla-shebang-bongo-boingo.
Allah-walla-walla-shebang-bongo-boingo, Allah-walla-walla-shebang-bongo-boingo.
only a few minority extremists do this act and think its part of Mourning. just because a few do this, the website should not generalize all Shias as supporters of Self flagellation. In fact, Ayatollah Khamenei the head of Shias all over the world has banned this act 20 years ago. only a few minority does this. Spanish and South American Christian extremist group who used to do this converted to Shia’sm about 80 years ago .. slowly its disappearing.
Christian extremist groups also do self flagellant their bodies.. youtube Christian Self flagellation.
Mirza, part of the point is that _any_ of the followers do this. It means that your deity’s messaging is flawed because it isn’t consistently getting across to everyone, and that is just one more sign among many that your god is entirely fictional.
And stating that Christian groups do it doesn’t help your case. Christians did the Inquisitions too, yo.
“Christian extremist groups also do self flagellant their bodies.. youtube Christian Self flagellation.”.. Well we don’t do it to our babies! Poor babies!
Well OK, I do.
why do the kids seriously have to cut their head? trust me, i do not know about the Sura thing. poor kids! do they have to bleed so much?
