A lot of the theory of where scientists believe we come from apes is because our dna is 99% or so similar. What most people fail to realize is that our dna is also 50% similar to a bananna. Also take the study of fruit flies, scientists use them because they have such short lifespans that they can see "evolution" right before their eyes. They expose them to large doses of radiation to help speed up the process too. But the fruitflies show what is already known, when they do mutate it is always a degenerative mutation and they NEVER become a different insect/animal, they stay as fruit flies.
