Question: What if we don’t have any law, what do you think life would be without religion, where is the value would come from. With out cops who you would fear to kill somebody or steal? –Mohamed
Answer: I think you’re trying to say that religion brings order to the world and provides a set of morals and guidelines from which to live by. Is that correct? Assuming so I will answer accordingly.
There are a few reasons why one would not kill someone. First, it is illegal and thus a punishment awaits you. Secondly, many believe God will judge you so they abstain from committing murder. Then there’s my reason for not killing people: It’s not nice. I hate to say it, but I’m going to go with Jesus on this one, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Doing something that negatively impacts another unwilling participant is wrong in my mind because I wouldn’t want the same happening to me. I know this sounds like a generic argument, but I don’t think it’s anymore complicated than this. I subscribe to the belief that people need to mind their own damn business.
I don’t steal, murder, rape, etc because I think it’s disrespectful, not because I can get caught or might be judged by God. I’m not a good person to please God and make my way in to heaven. I’m a good person because I respect others lives and don’t put myself above them.
