Question 4

Question: Why does Islam still have restrictions on eating certain foods? –Elliott

Answer: Ok I’m not really sure if you mean food as pork, or food includes alcohols too.

Any way, I will try to answer both, first we don’t eat the Pig meat, because it’s dirty animal lives in the mud and dirty food and cause a lot of disease and you can look at the American and see how much they suffer from obesity, the pig meat has a lot of fat and it’s the kind of that stays in the body and doesn’t go that easy, and I’m talking from scientific prospective, they said and I don’t know how correct this story, that god transform beny Israel twice to monkey and pigs, and that’s why it’s also forbidden in Judaism, but I’m not really sure if it’s right story or not.

For alcohols, you know how destroying alcohols is for society, alcohol makes people does things they wouldn’t do if they are not sober, like killing and etc. I really don’t feel that I have to talk a lot about alcohol because it’s self explanatory, all I can say that Islam really cares about the society health, and one of the things that Islam didn’t forbid, but our prophet recommended us not do, to marry relative, though it’s nor forbidden, and his reason that when you marry out of your relatives you get healthier kids, now we discovered that relatives marriage creates a lot of issues for the kids, and that’s another thing that Muslims ignored, you found a lot of Muslims marry from relatives.

I hope that answered your question.

For those who don’t know arabic: Beny Israel actually means “Sons of Israel” and is a common reference to Jewish people

hmmm, that’s not true anymore. People get sick form eating Chicken a lot more then Pig. As for Fat, all meat is fat, there’s little difference between one or the other, Most people who eat pig are NOT obese (vegetarian myself, so i’m not really a good source for this.)

    So, what’s the REAL reason?

  3. ibn Ismail says:

For the Muslims, for those who believe in God with strong believe, and has no doubt in their heart about what God sent to mankind, it’s (should be) enough argument to know that the God forbids the pork, alcoholic drinks, scrag, blood, and all others stuff mentioned in Holy Quran and/or Sahihah, and these stuff are for sure harmful. Not being able to explain the things in rational manner doesn’t necessary mean they are not true! You can’t know everything, this doesn’t mean you have to deny everything you don’t know.

As for beny Isralis thay are not only Jews, also Christians are included, because not only Musa (Mouses – peace be upon him) but also Isa (Jesus – peace be upon him) has been sent as messenger by God to bany Israils. Bany Israils are known from the time of prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) as for his son’s name. And Muhammad (peace be upon him) is from beny Ismaeels, the other son of Ibrahim, Ismaeel (Ishmael – peace bu upon them all).

ibn Ismail: ” You can’t know everything, this doesn’t mean you have to deny everything you don’t know.”
The first part is probably correct, at the moment we don’t know everything and may never know everything.
The second part is typical religous bullshit. Just because we don’t know something doesn’t mean that God exists. The default argument is that there is no God. There’s no need for a god. No evidence to support a god. It’s up to religious types to demonstrate god. Not the reverse.

I say there is a Milka nut chocolate bar circling the sun at exactly 3.67 times earth’s orbit from the sun. I dare you prove i’m wrong.

Of course saying there is a teapot doing the same thing is as elegant, but i have a craving for chocolate right now.

  6. Ulrik says:

My guess is that 10.000 years ago in the middle east some kind of spiritual leader had a son who ate a pig that wasn’t cooked properbly. He got sick and died. The spiritual leader saw it as an act of divinity and declared from then on pigs tabu.

In a way muslims and jews are celebrating their ancestors lack of cooking talents by not eating pig.

Fortunately for me my ancestors knew how to treat meat.
